Hey I'm new here! As soon as I found this website, I registered and immediately joined. My spelling may not be the best because I'm tired at the moment, sorry, but I'm here to tell you real quick about my only astral projection experience I can remember.

I love astral projection. I think of it as "getting out of your 'physical (car)' and stretching your legs, your muscles, etc, like you're cramped inside your body, and to tell you the truth, this is extremely relaxing and fresh, probably because I perceive it as a "cold and fresh experience" and when I enter the astral plane, I feel rejuvenated.

Well, this is what happened about a year ago.

I wake up on the bed, I'm in sleep paralysis. I read earlier about astral projection and I decided, this was my chance! I'm going to take this SP and astral project! So guess what, I levitated above my bed before slamming into some hard object and really, really hurting my head. It felt like I was in SP but had fallen off the bed. I woke up and found myself in the bed. Trust me, it may seem like a lucid dream and even felt like one (felt) but it was pretty vivid and I had no control over any of my actions.

I'm new to the astral world. I mean new like...never done it successfully except 1-2 times. I've been practicing 3 years now and I have a  ADD, could that interfere at all with my experience: because I contently loose contra;;  :x

Anyways, la sty, does anyone know how to have Sleep paralysis at will, because that was probably the closest I got. And also, can anyone tell me if that was even an astral projection? I did levitate, and it felt pretty different from a lucid dream. I felt awake and I wasn't freak en out or anything because I had planned that. I'm not afraid to see new things. Nightmares are just another adventure for me to experience. Trust me, nothing scares me, even death. Everything's a new experience. So even if I do something that's dangerous in the astral world, I sure want to experience it all.

Now, I don't mean that in a physical sense, just in case you got that the wrong way.

1. How do I do SP at will?
2. How do I AP longer?
3. Was that experience an AP?

Sorry. Had to sum it up, because I sort of stretched this to far. Well, thanks for your feedback ;)

You don't need to convince us that you had a conscious OOBE.  :-) Which you did... to answer your 3rd question.

Here's a little how to I wrote up recently with vids to do with SP induction...

and another piece about SP...

You AP longer by practice. That is the long and short of it. Practice makes perfect... I'm still practicing and I'm not perfect at it after 2/3 of my life.

Here's another very useful thread...

and I advise you to read Xanth's ebook... What is Astral Projection and How To Do It

Welcome! If you're looking for danger in the astral world... well... I guess there is perceived danger, but honestly if you display positive you will get positive in return. :)

SP is one of those topics that is constantly debated. I think what is basically accepted at this point is that everyone goes through SP each time they fall asleep, however not everyone is aware of it, and quite a few people can AP without ever needing to induce an aware SP.

I've only been briefly stuck in SP about twice (both after waking up), but have my fair share of AP/OBE experiences. It's certainly not a do or fail. I guess what I'm saying is, keep an open mind and see where your experiences take you.
Take to the sky, feeling so alive! Past the clouds to the Milky Way, share our secrets with the starry brigade. The stars surround us like a million fireflies. For once I see infinity... it's in your eyes.
