sounds like an awesome experiance! way cooler than my first :p it sounds like u were in real time zone because you sorta knew the place where you were. question-- when u are doing the "mind is awake my body is asleep" thing, are you just repeating that to yourself or something? cause id like to learn some new methods lol [:P] thanks for sharing it sounded really cool! Except I didn't do the colour visualizations as I don't like visualizations because they make me feel like I'm being sucked into a different place, and I like to be present when I meditate, and I consider preparation for astral travel meditation. I go with words and "feelings" (vibrations, really). I feel the vibrations that the words cause inside and I try to focus on making those particular vibrations stronger in addition to the amount that the mantras or affirmations cause. I'm hoping to be able to eventually just say a mantra once, and focus on the vibrations it causes without any verbal thought, because I find verbal thought also pulls me away from being present. Not as much, though.

Sounds like a very cool experience Svetty, congrats! I think that mazdaaf is right though, you probably did have a real time projection. I shall try that technique (mind awake/body asleep) the next time I practice, thanks for that. I agree with you aswell, I dont really like visualizations that much. Oh how I envy you, your first experience in 6-7 days. Ive been at it for months! But I shall not let that discourage me, however, I shall use your experience as motivation, thanks again!
Best of luck to you on your future travels!

i stink like a dead skunk at AP anyway i have heard of vibrations, and well Svetty i was wondering if i have got the correct feeling. like hmm its sort of like a going to sleep feeling, as in when your foot falls asleep but without the needle/sandy feeling, it just is like if my body was sort of shivering back and forth in a nice metronomeic way

[metronomeic]is not a word as far as im concerned

and when the feeling gets to my head my head like feels like it is going to lean to the left.

im so confused someone want to help? ill copy this into another section as well

Svetty you say that the rope didnt work for you? or basically non directly. it also doent work for me. nothing does is it impossible to not be able to do something. just like elephants cant jump.

Technically, everything is a vibration, so I'm not sure why people call them "vibrations" as if it separates them from anything else. I just used this word because I think it's describing the transition between physical and astral and that's what I knew I was feeling. It felt like I was 'evaporating' off my body. Or like my astral body was becoming more loose, so that it would no longer cling to my physical body. It felt like the edge of myself was becoming less defined and expanding and letting go of my body. I don't know of any other way to explain it. I can't find the words to explain the images and feelings inside me that I wish I could transmit to you telepathicly. I hate words, really.

If you have negative energy stuck somewhere in your body, it ("vibrations") is going to feel different in that part than it does in other places. Everyone except the very spiritually advanced have negative energy attached to them somewhere. (I sure have my fair share of it) Possibly everyone who has a physical body, to a certain extent. You probably have some negative energy stuck on the side of your head which is causing the directional feeling you're getting. There could also be an entity doing something with your energy. Maybe there's a hole in your aura on the left side of your head and an entity is sucking energy out of you. Or maybe not. Maybe you're peacefully releasing it out of the left side of your head. In any case, it's very important to protect yourself when doing anything like astral projection or meditation. Message me if you think you need help with protection.

Anyways, the thing with feelings is that everyone has different ones, and the way I feel when I'm switching bodies may be different than the way you feel when you're switching bodies. I can say that as soon as it started happening, I knew exactly what it was, though. It felt very familiar to me. Then again, a lot of "new" things feel familiar to me, like driving a car...

Another thing I'd like to point out is that I asked myself if I was ready to astral travel before I started, and I got a "yes" feeling. I wouldn't have tried otherwise. If you're trying and trying and trying to astral project and you can't do it, maybe it's not your time for it and you should be focusing on something else. I beleive in working with the energy that the universe gives you, and if all you're experiencing is struggle, then the right kind of energy probably isn't as available to you now as it will be later. I suggest backing off from astral projection for a while to see if it (the concept of it, not nessesarily the experience of it) comes to you through "coincidence".

The thing with the rope method is that I didn't feel that it worked for me. I had that feeling before I tried it. I just wanted to confirm it. I didn't fully trust the feeling that I didn't need it. I'm sure if I tried harder at it I could use it with success, but I now know that don't need it, so there's no point. I know this because I feel it and because of experience. Ask yourself if you need it. If you feel that you can't ask yourself a question and receive a true answer, then you need to work on your intuition. It's all about trust.

Then again, I could be wrong. Don't "beleive" anything anyone tells you. Consider it as a possibility and check it against your experiences to find out if it's true to you. Or don't. That's free will for ya. :)

In any case, I wish you good fortune in all your endeavors. No matter what, everything will work out eventually in the "end" (Which is actually a beginning. Think about it. How could one thing end without another thing beginning?) :)

Good luck, have fun!

Svetty

Hello. I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to my fellow wanderers. My name is Andrew but most of my friends and those on the internet call me Svetty.

This morning I had my first astral projection experience after making attempts for 6 or 7 days. I think I just didn't have the right method, cause I didn't feel drawn to any particular until now. I tried the "my mind is awake, my body's asleep" method the night before, but gave up on it as I simply did not have the energy to put enough effort into it. I had a few semi-lucid dreams that I can't quite remember. I call them semi-lucid because I know I'm dreaming, but I don't seem to have all my "common sense" with me... Or does this count as a "lucid dream"? Most of my dreams become lucid halfway through or atleast shortly before I wake up. Anyways, I'm digressing as per usual...

I woke up from my sleep and decided to try the mind-awake-body-asleep method and found that I was feeling the vibes in no time. I felt that I could move my astral arms away from my physical ones, and tried the rope method. I found myself pulling on nothing. I even tried imagining that I was really heavy and it took much effort to pull myself, and that there were big knots in the rope. This didn't work. I was basicly waving my astral arms in the air above me. I did notice that my third eye seemed to "suck" my arms towards it. I get this feeling in my heart chakra when I do reiki on myself and really get into it. Usually when I'm stoned. Luckily for me I've given up all intoxicants to help myself travel astrally.

ANYWAYS...

I gave up on the rope method and decided to see if I could float out of my body through force of will. It worked. I felt myself float out of my physical body, and I opened my astral eyes. I don't think I was in "real time zone" cause I wasn't in the room I was sleeping in, or anywhere near it from what I could tell. I was near a canal, like the one we have in downtown ottawa, and there was a pile of the kind of dirty snow that's left over in a parking lot after most of the snow melts. We don't currently have snow in ottawa, so either I was not in "real time zone" or I was creating this pile. It was pretty neat, cause there were little buildings in the snow, with parts that were coloured red. It still looked like it was made out of snow, though. I also saw an old friend of my brother's, who I was surprised to see. Atleast this entity looked like the old friend of my brother's. If this was actually him in astral, he was probably asleep, because he was talking jibberish and making "bong hit" motions to me, saying something about how I used to be a pothead. I tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention and said "Look! We're in the astral!" or something of the like, and I was flying around, doing "tricks" in the air. He didn't seem to notice. Then I decided that I wanted to go into space, so I flew up into the sky and all I could see was pure blue sky, no sun. It was impossible to tell if I was moving upwards because I had no reference point, and it didn't "feel" like I was moving that high anyways. I looked down again and saw that I didn't fly very high. Then I was pulled back to my body, for some reason I don't know of.(perhaps the dissapointment from not being able to fly into space?)

After some darkness, I was back in my body lying down facing the unadorned window, but still perceiving through my astral eyes. The corner of the house that used to be there was replaced by what looked like a slightly rusty water tower, and the clouds in the sky were cartoonish line drawings of cow's faces, all wobbling around shroom-like. Neato! Then darkness again. I felt a presence holding my right hand who I'm now assuming was one of my guides. I was a little resistant, as I've heard of dark entities and I was prepared to dismiss it. My intuition told me it was alright, though, and I felt some nice healing vibrations for a few seconds before waking up.

It was a cool experience. Different from what I expected. I thought I'd just end up exploring the house in astral. I wish I could have passed through a wall and felt what it was like. I think I could have if I had opened my eyes earlier in the experience because on previous attempts I would try to open my astral eyes and end up opening my physical ones, bringing my physical body back to a wakeful state.

Thanks for your time.

May your spirits soar,
Svetty
