So I've been doing meditation and trying my best to astral project for a little over a month now. Last night I had something happen that hasn't happened yet. I was just laying there on my bed doing my breathing techniques, the usual numbness of different parts of my body. For me the numbness starts in the palm and fore arms, for most people I've heard that it starts in the legs. Then I did the technique that whenever you take a breath in imagine that you are stationary on a ladder, then when you exhale, imagine that you are descending down or falling. So after that I fell into a trance where I didn't have to focus on the meditation anymore, and thats when something strange happened. The nextdoor neighbor did about four knocks on the wall (I have no idea why). When it woke me up I heard this intense buzzing in my ear (the buzzing happened at the same time as the knocks were going on). The best way that I can describe it is that it sounded like a fly caught behind a curtain, but right there in my ear. Nothing in my room could have made that noise at all. It startled me so much that for the first five seconds I couldn't even realize that I had been startled. I just layed there with my heart racing wondering what the hell just happened.
Any information?
Thank you all.
Those were exit sensations. Noises (astral noises) vibrations (whooshing, buzzing) are signs of an upcoming projection. Look up exit symptoms and you'll read all about them.
hey termite... what happened when this buzzing came up? i had this several times, too. i lose concentration then and turn to normal waking state in ~2 seconds. is AP about getting and staying in this state?

Wow, I looked it up. How come I heard it as the knock nextdoor woke me?
It can be a lot of different noises, I have heard knocks on my windows, dogs barking, steamtrains starting to go, a whistle, children's voices, somebody calling my name.
Yup. And explosions, conversations, footsteps, you name it.
For some people we don't hear anything, except the obvious buzz, but it doesn't sound like a radio or anything, just like a mosquito sound, but that can be heard in any time of waking life :)
