Title: first successful controlled OBE
Post by: Blue Light Mystic on September 04, 2002, 20:26:25
Hello Powder. I'm happy that you had such a successful and controlled experience. Good going! ~ (*smile*) :)

Yes, remembering one's obe, astral projection or even dream or lucid dream can be difficult at times to recall, especially in great detail as well as exactly how they had occured! I've been doing all of that for a while now and it still can be difficult for me to remember too! One of the greatest challenges that I know of in having an experience is trying to wake back up out of one or back into one's body and being able to remember it precisely and how it had happened. However, there are ways one can get around the memory block thing, and one of these ways I've been using for some time now is saying this statement in my mind before falling asleep for the night: I will recall and remember my: dream, astral projection, lucid dream or obe. State the one you wish to remember the most. This has actually proven to work for me as well as others in the past. ;)

Now, getting back to what you had described...I believe the word you need to use to describe the inner sound meditation you said could either be termed a 'mantra' or maybe a 'chant'. Don't honestly know if there's a difference between the two terms, but that's what I think of in reading what you wrote. Yes, that is a good technique/way to help keep one's mind clear of thoughts from wandering in while one's meditating.

And, about the falling asleep while meditating thing...I've had this great urge to fall asleep too while doing that! Argh! My head keeps falling down and making me get out of the darn meditation as a result! I wonder if there's a better way to stay awake? I sure would love to know!

Maybe you had your mind travel a little bit and didn't necessarily astral project. A few times while I was meditating in a high enough trance state, I've only found that my mind was projecting and not necessarily my astral body. I wonder if there might be a fancier term for this? (*smile*) It's pretty neat though! Sounds like your mind had a pretty fun adventure if anything. ~

Keep on believing, trying and focusing well. You'll eventually get there alright! It will take some time though, and this is an example on where patience is important. ~ (warm smile)

Hi everyone, I thought you might be interested in my first successful
controlled projection .

I'm sorry but I forgot some details ( you know how the experience
loses its' "freshness")

I started with mental hands, then chakra opening, then energy drawing.
Then I tried to project ,unsuccessfuly, I decided to pretend to be sitting
next to my bed and being in my "clones'" mind. This was probably unsuccessful too.

I then decided to do the inner sound meditation ( or whatever it is ) where
you focus on the sound in your head ( Its a prolonged note). I then was then
satisfied as I found out I could focus or create higher pitched notes.
I had control of my mind ( because I could focus very well ) but at the same
time I realized I was falling asleep.

The next things that happened are a kind of a blur:
I think I moved my leg and I heard a loud ripping sound, more as if my
bed was covered in thick cling-wrap and my movement made that specific
sound ( btw, I always thought the ripping sounds werent serious ).

Then, I felt as if I was falling and floating at the same time.
I had some blurry astral vision and I saw the ceiling.

I decided to go to the beach, I thought of the sunny beach, but instead
I came to a dark beach ( then I figured out that in RealTimeZone it is night )
I flew up and then dived into the water, resurfaced in cuba (???) and did the
same thing there, after that I came back.
There were no chakra vibrations and the whole thing felt like an advanced
creativity/imagination state.

It looks like the inner sound technique worked to focus and help me, although
I use it only for relaxation. Tell me if you want me to explain it.

After my little (yet vaguely satisfying) adventure I had the luck of waking up
with a cold next morning because I OBE'd without the bed cover and with
an open window (note: I did NOT drift into sleep after the OBE, I woke up
and then tried to go to sleep)

Good luck to everyone who is exploring OBEs!

very interesting OBE experience! howd u know it was cuba that you ended up in? and why do u believe cuba out of all places...are u in fl or sumthin etc. good luck on ur next experience and for me i noticed telling myself before going to sleep "I will be able to remember everything about my astral experience" although best way to be sure not to forget something is to write it down, have a notepad near you and write down soon as u get back because you may be able to remember things but then an hour later or after the next nap/sleep state you may find it hard to recall memories or forget a few important details. def wanna know bout ur next experience keep us updated!
