I had the chance to read something about r. monroe on the web and one thing surprised me. He talked about focus levels, and there were some "filled" with souls of dead people. Do you think astral proj. can shred some light on all the "afterlife matter"?
Had any of you experienced something related to this during astral proj.?

Yes.  Many books have been written based on investigations on this theme- many of Bruce Moen's books talk about focus levels, belief system territories, and soul retrievals (which is the act of helping a 'lost' soul move from focus 23 (a more subjective locale) to focus 27, where they can find 'local' helpers to guide them through the afterlife process.
I've done very limited 'work' on this, and experienced some of this.

What i really don't understand is what the afterlife is like. I find the concept of focus 27 ( Monroe ) fascinating yet scary at the same; if consciousness survives a physical death, what kind of energy is involved in this process?

It was a long time ago, probably 5 to 6 years ago... I talked someone out of their self-imposed "hell" and got her to recognize there were other places to go to.  I've not had too many since.
