Hello fellow AP'ers! I have no posted on the forums for a very long time but something drew me back and I had a very strong urge to post
my experience.

I went to bed with the intention to Astral Project, I even said to myself a couple affirmations, I laid down
and relaxed but this time it was different than the others. After about 5 minutes of laying down my eyes started to open,
or at least they felt like they were, now keep in mind I was in a dark room with no light source what soever and the only sound was my
AC running in the background. So my eyes started twiching almost, and about 2 minutes after that I started seeing lights and my
inner sound (Ringing in the ear) got louder and now I noticed in the background that my AC had a much lower tone than before.

All of a sudden I felt my body detach yet my eyes were still closed, but it was as if someone had turned on a light
and a bright light was behind my eye lids, I was amazed at how bright this was, I was a bit strartled and woke up to find myself in my dark room, with no lights.

Any ideas if these bright lights are symptoms or any tips on how to increase the vibrations? I was in this state of bright lights for a while, I was not sure what to do.

I'll bet you were startled. On occasion I too see crazy lights and shapes way out of place and they get your attention before you can take control. Usually you wake and find nothing unusual at all and kick yourself for not accentuating the experience.
These strange artifacts have produced a tunnel or vortex looking apparition too. If you managed to stay with the odd effect, then enter the apparition you're in for a treat. Many exits exist on the rushing by of the lights and these are created by your intent. Staying the distance is also good as the end places you where you need to be.
The tactile effects of movement are also present and can be extremely exhilarating too.
It's 'any fears need be done away with' time too, to miss an opportunity after a few experiences because of taking too long to enter, will become evidently self annoying.
The AC slowing in frequency is the effect of you increasing yours. The physical is being detached and your mind speeds up around 5 times faster I find. By this time the physical is removed totally from perception and your on your travels.
Any extra sensations require interaction in a mundane sense at first and when they become clear your interaction can be dramatically increased. In a similar way to phasing when the visualisations start.
If your lucky enough to find a repeat of this,  open your eyes slowly and take a look into the distance. Your active in the non physical and may not see your room at all. This is another shock to be prepared for. The scene could be black with a dash of colour or fully generated. It may be your room with reality fluctuations and a whirling pattern of colour or a completely different setting.
Go for it next time without any fears. These are quite rare and the recall is excellent.

Nice to hear your back too.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Interesting you mention the vortex, I actually saw a orange orb present itself when my eyes were closed, also I did notice that when ever these occurrences happened the noise my AC made seemed to accelerate as if the speed of it had increased. Also my eyes were twitching a bit when this happened, I tried my best to keep them closed because I didn't want the experience to end.

I guess these are symptoms of a very close AP but I just don't know what to do once I see these lights, do I focus in on them? I tried doing that and I ended up going cross eyed form looking at the lights, as well as I felt my body sort of shift in direction as if I were in a spinning room, but much smoother and calmer.

I agree! Just this morning when I was in and out of sleep and having vivid dreams, each time I awoke I was amazed how much was going on in such a short time. When I reacquainted with the physical it was like I couldn't even process how quickly things were happening and how fast I was thinking, although it seemed normal within my dreams. Hard to explain...

Hopefully you're deep into the experience and your physical eyes are not actually moving. If so you do need to staya little longer.
The movements you are feeling are natural and a good signpost too. These can be quite strong and a rollercoaster ride sensation is very common. You're well on your way if you can experience this. A good action is to form a situation that matches these sensations, a rollercoaster being very common or if more subtle, an underwater scene.
Picture this and allow a little time to become immersed. The lights may come and go too. It may start forming sounds that match your created scene. When this occurs your physical body should be ignored totally. Any ties to it will hinder you.
Go with the flow passively and once it all feels complete you should start to see a scenario around you.
This is when you go enter the scene interacting with it. It should be as real as in the physical too.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Welcome back. I really want to experience these lights and all but never experienced it. I know that was weird experience for you but I want to experience it.

It's easy to just say to"passively observe" all of this, but it's harder in practice, since so many strange things can occur.

The flashing light, which is normally the first sign of "Hypnagogia"  was one of those things that caught me off guard lead me to questioning whether my eyes were open or not. This in turn lead to doubt, which destroyed that session. To rectify that problem, I began to use a Mindfold eye mask, found here http://mindfold.com/.

I also had another time in my earlier travels, when I was attempting to AP and all of a sudden a light appeared. This light became blinding, but it felt good in a strange way.

It felt safe, if that's even possible. I bathed in it for as long as I could then was jettisoned at warp speed back to my physical focus.

It was like a "sneak peek" at what was yet to come.

I have learned to experience first, log my results, than question what occurred at a later time.

This seems to squash many failed attempts.

Good Luck and Safe Travels!   :-)

Forget trying to increase the vibrations.  You are free to go.  All you have to do is to move yourself, spiritually.

SirMike

How do I move myself spiritually? I don't understand

Astralsuzy

I think I now understand why people seem to ignore what I say.  They do not understand or do not know how to do it.  I wish I could explain how to do it.  I find it very easy but I realise that does not help you.  All I can say is when you spiritually move, it feels like you are physically moving yourself but you are not.  If you find it hard to spiritually move then use your mind to push you away from your body.  The only way to do it is to practice.  The more practice you get, the easier it will get.

Astralsuzy

If you do not like my suggestion, you could do an ap technique.  That should be a lot easier to do.  It should work.
