WooHoo!!!!!!!!!! Had my first (planned) exit last night right before sleeping. Weird thing is I was barely trying to exit, it just kinda happened.
It was a very short OBE, no more than 10 seconds. and I floated about halfway between my bed and the ceiling. It was dark so I couldnt see much, but the OBE was very real.
I could also hear my neighbours radio (or TV, not sure which) very clearly.
I read somewhere that its normal when people OBE they can hear radio and TV fequencies.
Anywho, I'm finding it easier and easier because I almost had a 2nd OBE when trying to get to sleep after that. Only drawback was I somehow picked up a lot of energy during OBE which made going to sleep afterwards difficult. I didnt pass out till about 2:30 or 3AM.
I'm quite happy, but at the same time I dont find it that big of a deal. Weird!! :| :-D

I been trying AP on and off since March 2010. I used no method to exit, it just kinda happened.
It was nice though, very liberating.
Only downer was it didnt last very long and I was stuck in the RTZ.
I never got to see any astral planes

But you must go about it somehow? Do you sit up or recline, open or closed eyes, any thought preparations in advance, special intentions?
I lay flat on my back with just a pillow as headrest. Arms to the side, eyelids closed and keeping my eyes focused on one spot around my upper forehead. I also do deep in/out breathing, sometimes with long intervals. From there its just practice, practice and more practice.
Its also beneficial to take a few weeks break here and there. Get your mind off it.

Hallo Fresco. Very cool that you had your first OBE! :-)
Floating indoors IS a blast. Flying outdoors is MUCH better (believe it or not). :wink: Also it is not unusual for people to experience sharpened senses while out of body. It has happened to me once or twice, when my normally average eyesight was Very keen.

I just didn't think that was a good way to treat a new member. Perhaps if they indicated that they were just joking about their tone?

Maybe we'd talk to them and find out more about how they define their experience, find some common ground. Maybe I'm giving us too much credit, but I'd like to think we're caring people.

The silver cord phenomenon, I believe, is a mind-safety-net for those who see it. That's all.
Those of us who don't need a safety-net, don't see it.
Even though those "in the knowing" don't need it, I have started to collect sth like "verifications" stories that might help to make those "debunkers" or close-minded to doubt their way of thinking at least a bit. I want to upload it on a website. Although one does not really need them I find the stories interesing and intriguing.
There is also a thread in this forum on verifications, unfortunately it is a bit deserted now. So maybe we could "revive" any validations-stories (there) if s.o. has some of them? I'd be eager to "collect" them.

Im very new to this. Although I already have, want to thank you again for your post personalreality.. the post on how I got out for the first time..
I have been trying for a week or 2 now..
had one very short experience last week, not even sure if it was or I was dreaming..
but lastnight I used the advice to not try too hard..
As I was falling asleep, I felt very relaxed, dosing off, I suddenly became very aware that I was falling asleep, I tried not to get too excited.. next thing I know, i was up near my ceiling..
To be honest I really didnt know what to do with myself. I just shot out through the roof and kept going up.. and up.. and up.. then I kinda freaked out and thought, excrement i better go back down.. so thats what i did.. then i went back into my body and woke up.. I was sooo excited.. like buzzingg !!
Then im like.. orite sweet, im guna do it again... and 2 mins later.. I did..
again i didnt know what to do with myself.. so I just kept going up and up and up.. really really high.. I went back down again, and repeated this 3-4 times.
Up and down etc etc..
the last time I went really high up.. I looked at my hands and they were glowing.. a green colour..
when I turned them over.. it looked like a huge emerald gem just inches away from the palms of my hand.. i wasnt holding onto it but it was just there..
I dont know what the green glowing gems are all about. Im not even into gems and stuff..
but yeah.. the experience was amazing..
I have been pumped up about it all day.. going to stay home this weekend and try to do more than just go up and down lol
