anybody experience this before? I have only been doing this for a few months. I have had "sleep paralysis" since I was a child until I read a book that described exactly what was happening to me and found out it was astral projecting. I am nervous about not being able to get back to my body after the last time (my 7th projection) when I tried to reconnect and thought I reconnected several times before I actually did. On this occasion I was pulled from my body by my legs. Ive had this feeling that someone was grabbing and pulling my legs several times in my life, but this was the first time i let go and was actually pulled out, I don't know if having trouble reconnecting is related to being pulled out.
im still new to this, but i dont seem to have any problems getting out. Im not looking for info on what's out there as i don't want to taint my experiences with pre-conceived info any more then I aleady have.
Hope someone has some good/sound advise or info or similar experience which they can share.
thx
shirin
Any troubles "reconnecting" are, in my experience, due to a belief or fear you have about the issue.
There's nothing to worry about... more often than not you'll be forced back to your body against your will. ;)
If you do need to end a projection prematurely simply focus upon your physical body then let your consciousness do the rest.
I think it would help to consider altering your beliefs about what you think astral projection is.
Taking Bob Monroe as the best example - he had classic OBEs for years until he came to the realization that going out of body was a misnomer. In the non-physical there is no spatial element therefore everything exists in/on the same point. So you are not going anywhere because it is already all there/here (it's just we are ordinarily perceptually unaware of it). You are not moving out of your body but rather shifting your phase relationship with it to focus on another part of consciousness.
So if you are in fact not leaving your body but simply altering where you focus your awareness then any concerns about losing contact with your body should, in time, drop away.
You talk of the feelings of being pulled out and so I guess it feels very real to you that you are being separated from your body but I think this is just your beliefs so take note from what Ryan says
Thanks.
I had picked up a book on astral project in the library, which the author who also thought he had sleep paralysis or a mental disorder was also "pulled from his body. I had felt this before I ever tried to project (and it freaked me out)- anyway he say's it is your higher self or spirit guide pulling/assisting you out. I dont think I was nervous or afraid before, but I will not to be now.
wheather or not you actually leave the body or shift consciouness I am eager to find out, if thats possible.

Hi Idontknow, out of interest, what is the book?
i believe it was albert taylor. I also read robert monroe, who was very interesting but albert taylor seems to have had the same experiences i have had at the beginning.
