Hearning the outside world skip like a CD during sleep paralysis

Hello! I'm new here :)
I've been experiencing sleep paralysis for years.. which led me to become interested in astral projection. I used to get scared during sleep paralysis but not anymore. I have yet to experience a conscious exit though. Anyway.. I was traveling with my friend and her family to Florida. We left really early in the morning, so I tried to sleep for a few hours in the backseat. I didn't fully fall asleep - that I know of - but I was really relaxed and then after a couple of hours I'm feeling like I do during sleep paralysis. It was really interesting because I could hear the people up front just as if I were awake.. at my house during the night it's obviously really quiet so that was something. Then suddenly I feel like I'm falling, or sinking in my body is the best way to describe it.. and while that's happening everybody's voices like pause and sound like a CD that's skipping.. "eh eh eh eh eh eh" .. then I'd "come back up" -feeling more level with my body- and they'd sound normal.. I did it like 3 times before being able to move again. It was really wild - I'd never had that kind of control before - in the past I'd feel like I was falling and just go back to sleep. I also felt all tingly which I'd never felt before. Anybody had anything like this happen? Thoughts or explanations (er w/e) would be awesome!

The next time you experience sleep paralysis you have to try and focus everything on realizing the fact you are paralyzed, after you do this you are able to use the paralysis to your advantage and just use a normal exit technique.

One time I felt like if I really wanted to, I could've gone out of my body but I chickened out! What technique works best for you, whenever I'd do this thing where I'd picture a rope coming down and myself climbing it, out of my body. Whenever I'd do that before sleeping I'd always have spleep paralysis during the night. I guess I should probably try to astral travel during the day or something, since the time I mentioned in the post was the strongest and it was during the day.

There are many different techniques.

Just experiment with them all and see which ones work the best for you.

The rollout technique normally works the best for me. I seem to be a natural at it. I just roll out of bed to the side like I normally would in waking consciousness and usually find myself standing beside the bed.

Have you tried this technique?

omg, i've actually done some of these methods and not realized they're common. I'm really glad to feel apart of the planes of spirituality!! i unfortunatly didn't fully proceed with any but i was like 90% the way through some and feel like i could do it again.

i agree w/ rattleglans, make that link a sticky, because if u read them all, then u kinda make a collective idea on the many ways of inducing an OBE, THX

"Then suddenly I feel like I'm falling, or sinking in my body is the best way to describe it.."

When separation takes place (even though technically I do not like the term separate, as the mind is always separate from the body) it is so subtle you wont even know it's happening, unless you have come to identify it through experience. It feels like a very subtle physical like movement. Sometimes it's more intense but when I end up in the here in now next to my physical body it's very slight and subtle. So the feelings of falling were probably the separation but since your sight wasn't active you didn't know. When separation takes place for me I do not see anything, I feel the shifting/moving but do not see anything until the separation has already taken place. Usually before the separation takes place I see (through the astral sight / through eyelids) it goes away, the full shift of awareness away from the physical body happens, then it comes back. Sometimes I do not see anything before the shift, it varies.
