Hello! 8-)

A little background: I'm a freshman in high school and I have been interested in meditation for about two years now. I just discovered Astral Projection and Lucid dreaming about 3 months ago. I haven't had an OOBE yet, but I have had a lucid dream that lasted about 30 seconds >.<  :|

anyway, I was attempting to astral project again this morning (there is no school today), and I had a small taste of success. I was trying out a new technique that involved imagining a force pulling on your astral body. I tried it to, again, no avail, but I didn't want to lose my trance, so I decided to attempt a partial separation. So, I instead imagined the force pulling on my force, and after some concentration, i could literally feel my astral form being pulled away from my physical body! I contained my excitement, but when I attempted a full separation, I reconnected completely :-(

However, I am closer to success than ever before! I'm very excited!

So I have a couple questions:
1. Is it OK to open my eyes at this point? (I always meditate with my eyes closed, but one has to be able to see in the astral world  :-P)
2. What are the steps/requirements I need to meet in order to astral project?
3. Is there anything I am doing wrong? Any pointers?

Thanks much!

I can only say to keep practicing, because you are clearly on track. In my experience I never had eyes to open in the astral, the visual component would happen by itself. I would try to imagine seeing what I expect to be around my astral body at the time if there is nothing visual happening.

Ok, thanks. I'm still new to this so anything helps :-)

One question: Are you saying that I should imagine what I would be seeing if my eyes weren't closed?

Thanks again!

Yes, according to the position of your astral body, not your physical one. The idea is to immerse yourself in the astral as much as possible with all of your senses. What can happen is that while you are imagining it, the scene will become real, and you'll be projecting. This is the equivalent of giving yourself a little nudge in the direction of the astral, rather than waiting for it to come to you, if that makes sense.

I'm happy to help, good luck and have fun.

Alright! This will definitely help  :-D . Another question  Until you project isn't the position of your astral body virtually the same as the position of your physical one?
