Hello all!

I'm new to this forum, this will be my first post...

I've been having these interesting experiences prior to sleep. Sometimes, I feel the bed vibrating or my body rocking/swaying, I have to get up just to make sure there isn't an earthquake. I'm constantly in sleep paralysis, as a result, I've become quite the professional at waking myself up. More frequently, right before I truly fall asleep, it seems I'm spinning or I'll hear this lound, roaring wind or feel as though I'm traveling at incredible speed, but at no specific direction. During this time, it's dark and it feels as though I'm in "limbo." I say this because there is no light and there is no presence, I feel entirely alone in this void. I get very uncomfortable, and I wake myself up out of sleep paralysis. This happens 5-7 nights a week. I have horrible insomnia because of it, I'm scared to go to sleep. Once I wake myself out of the paralysis, I'll stay up so I don't fall right back into it. I've read about Astral Projection, and I think this may be what's going on. I've tried to embrace these symptoms and go with it, but fear is definitely holding me back. Any advice or helpful words would be much appreciated. I don't understand why this is happening, I don't believe I'm trying to intentionally do it. I've learned lately to escape this "limbo" by turning it into a lucid dream, I can usually get out of the sleep paralysis better this way.

Just to give you a brief history.. As a child, I was very good at lucid dreaming. I believe I have traveled to different planets with this entity, though I never got a good look at his face. I also used to see what I can only describe as a shadow entity at night, which had a very ominous presence. I used to pray for this vision to go away, and eventually it did. Now, I just feel like I'm left with a sensitivity to energy, I'm extremely perceptive. I also recall one night being asleep when what felt like a dark entity, yanked me out of my body and dragged me on the floor. I don't think it was a dream becasue I woke up in the same position I started in prior to being pulled. I'm not so sure any of this is related, but I wanted to provide as much detail as possible. I apologize for the novel, I have so much to share, but I think I went a bit overboard for my first post. Again, any commets, advice or the like will be much appreciated!

Also, I wanted to mention. One time, while I was stuck in this darkness, I thought, "beach," and I ended up all but my head submerged in the water, wading, close to shore. I thought this was pretty funny because I really just wanted to be on land. So, I suppose I need to be more specific with my requests.

I really like when the question is very well described and YES! Those are definitely Astral Projecting Symptoms.
If you feel the swirling, the vibration and you see the void then you are really on the borderline of projecting.
The limbo feeling only last a few minutes usually and when you get over your fears of "losing control" or being forever lost (or even death), then you'll have no problem projecting. There can be numerous of fears during this stage that can kick you back in your physical body tho.
Don't fear about letting go, projections are not dangerous they only act upon your fears, which help you overcome them eventually.
If you fail to project but can't introspect yourself in order to know what scared you then you failed for nothing. Sometimes it takes more time to understand what really scares you but if you try to remember, it will come back to you eventually.
Sleep paralysis and also those "demons" pulling you out of your bed etc., are just a manifestation of your own fear, those visions and hallucinations cannot hurt you, the only way it can hurt you is by showing you your deepest fears. Once you get over your fears (which is one of the best feeling in the world) You'll feel free.
Don't be scared to project, you are already very advanced if you can feel what's going on and (what you described here is very deep in the projecting symptoms) you won't have any problems going through the void/limbo part, just try to overcome that fear of the dark, let the energy of the astral fill you and carry you through the long way.

That Limbo/Void place seem to last a long time and can be stretched very far if you try too much to go deeper, I've tried many times to go higher than this place but eventually I understood that it's very hard to do so if you don't let the higher vibrations carry you up.
Basically at that stage, if you try to focus even more on going deeper, you will only be dragged down.

Astral Projection is very much like real life, sometimes you have to let go.

Edit: Welcome to Astral Pulse by the way! :)

Thank you two for the understanding and the advice. I can't stress to you how relieved I am that I've discovered the root of my symptoms. I'm especially comforted in knowing that there are others that not only have similar experiences, but have embraced them. I look forward to applying the knowledge you've given and sharing my results and experiences with you all. Thank you!

Hey! This is also my first day and first post here, feels great to be able to talk with people who have the same experiences!
The symptoms you're experiencing with the sleep paralysis and vibrations are definitely the initial symptoms of astral projecting. I used to experience the sleep paralysis for years and it freaked me out every time, until one day I just let it happen and tried to not be scared and that's when I experienced astral projection. In saying that! Though you should not let fear overcome you, you should still be on guard and protect yourself on the astral.

Welcome Khukai! It's great to have another experienced APer here.

As everyone has said above fear will stop you instantly in your tracks. This is because during a bout of Sleep Paralysis you find yourself in the "void/limbo" area (as Kzaal had mentioned in a post above). This is a area of thought = action. Many people when they experience SP for the first time have no clue what is happening to them. All they know is that they are paralyzed and now their mind generates a fear driven scenario. At this point it is best to go to your "happy place". But, this only happens after you understand what has occurred in the first place.

I talk to many people that have SP regularly and they still haven't confronted it. They find themselves terrorized by it every time it occurs. I tried to explain it to them in simple or any terms to be honest. But for whatever reason, they would not hear my words. It sounded like they were listening, but when I spoke to them later on I found out they didn't "listen" to what I said at all. It was kind of like the people that tell me they are interested in LDing/Aping, but when I talk to them the following year, I find they didn't follow that path. The reason always being they didn't have the time to do it. That answer frustrates me more than anything. To each their own though.
