Hey guys...I begun meditating and exploring my spiritual self for about 6 months now...I've had probably 10-15 or so experiences that i would consider either projections or lucid dreams...or something. 90% of the time I meditate and fall asleep...later that night I become conscious and realize something is happening...usually feel myself lift out of my body and go floating around....the biggest problem is its always black...i have a sense of where i am (around my room...or like last night down through the floor). To clear this up I have tried using commands like "Awareness now!" or "Now I see!" but it hasn't worked so far...last night i also tried using my astral arms to pry open my eyes...but that didn't work either....rarely when i can see whats going on things are different...my house and room appear different as if I am dreaming and when i "wake" in my body it feels somewhat as if i was dreaming but i know its very much unlike a dream...is that there is such a fine line between lucid dreaming and projection that i cross into each without attempt?
anyways thanks for any input!
You could try to use the other senses, like touching things or listening...
But, it's not exactly about saying commands like "Awareness now!" or "Now I see!"; it's more about willing it. You must intent it without a doubt. You don't even need to phrase it; you know what you want. Just will it.
I know that it is easier said than done but, as a famous shoe brand says: "Just do it!"

I had the same problem as you at first, with regard to sight.
I used to "sense" my way around (and didn't bump into anything). My lack of sight infuriated me for months on end, and I tried all sorts of things. Saying "clarity now" made no difference whatsoever. Prising my astral eyes open simply made my physical eyes open and abort the experience
I did try an experiment where I decided beforehand that the bathroom in our house would always be my "sight" starting point. I convinced myself that if I could just make it to the bathroom, I'd be able to see. It took a good few attempts to actually get to the bathroom (what with the usual distractions on the way), but eventually I managed it and guess what? It was brightly lit and my sight was perfect. I guess that was to do with my expectations.
However, I then got to a stage where I didn't care anymore whether I could see or not and if I was groping around in the dark, I would simply move further away and go through walls knowing that eventually my sight would come. Every time, it did.
Believe me, I've been there, but I'm through the other side! And so will you be. I do still occasionally have blind OBEs, but I don't worry about it.
Good luck!

I think all you need to do is find a word that makes sence to you, and REALLY mean it when you say, it. I SHOUTED " Clarity NOW goddamnit" and that worked fine. I remembered looking at a brick wall that was really misty, and when i DEMANDED clarity, boy did i get it. I remember not only seeing individual bricks, but allso the grains of stone on the surface of the bricks, the grains on stone INSIDE the bricks, and even the individual molecules of stone inside the grains of stone inside the bloody bricks :-))
Like my higher self was saying to me, " Geesh, Are you happy now ? "

I've had 2 projections.. First one had no visual problems. Second one started out dark and blurry. I had totally forgotten such a thing was even possible. I first said clarity now, remembering the suggestion. It didn't work. Then I simply pulled in some energy, and voila.
I've never had problems with that until now, I kinda got something that can only be described as tunnel vision. I kinda worked my way trough it and floated trough the wall to the hallway which has lighting. :P
Btw, the damn card trick didn't work... I guess my subconscious mind was at work when trying to because I kept getting images instead of aces and the rest of the cards.
Mhat,
your experiences with AP seem similar to what i have experienced so far. In past i have not succeeded to manage with blackness when i started to float in my room. Another time i was lucky to convert my OBE into LD so i had at least some dreamscape to manage in. But today while napping i had my first "real" AP. But differently from you i succeeded to have sight when i shouted: "Increase light! Increase clarity (lucidity)!" I immediately started to see my room. But the fact that there wasn't my wife (who was there IRL at the same time) and some things were in different places showed me that OBE-s can be very close to LD-s. Only difference is that in AP you don't dream before you start to go out of body, but in LD you usually have some dream before that (or HI).
Also i noticed that i could control my OBE more easily than LD. There was no single problem to fly at will and fly through closed door. What i wanted that i get next moment (unlike in some LD-s). The other difference was, that i was not as excited as in LD-s. I think it's because in OBE i needed to "create" my dream environment, but in LD's i usually have ND environment where i become lucid.
