You could have just continued your noticing and ALLOWED what was happening to happen.

That is wayyyyyyyyyyy easier to say then done, but it does get better with Practice, Practice, Practice!  :-)

Just one of the many sign posts. That will tone down/ease up as well.

That's why I say it's wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy easier to say than do.

There are some great stickies on this site. You should check them out, they go into a lot of this in depth.

Yes, i also agree with Lionheart. Just continue it and see what happens.

As you said, practice, practice and practice.  The more experience you get, the better you will get.  You will not need to ask people what should I have done as you will know what to do.  It does not worry me you asking.  It comes down to practice and experience.

The basic principle is to simply go to sleep keeping your mind just active enough to be  aware of the you inside.
Just let go of all physical sensations. Ignore them all and think of floating into the air to get away from the sleeping body.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Studies have been done and indicate that our heart is not beating near as fast as we think it is. But the more we dwell on it, the harder it will beat. It has even been documented in some people that their heart rats is actually lower than normal even though they perceive it to be pounding out of control.

But it does begin to race when we start to panic in fear of the unknown.
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.

I always experience a slight pinch or compression in the area of my heart just as I am about to shift to the NPR.

At first it used to be a problem. It created fear and impeded me from going any further.

Then one time I just said, "oh, to hell with it" and powered through.

This is when I learned how important it was to just totally SURRENDER TO and ALLOW the shift to take place.
