How do you see imagery?

When the visuals start to flow for me, sometimes I see images in the darkness before my eyes.
However lately, its been different. Almost like I'm literally looking within myself and my consciousness is like a big screen. Is this the third eye that some talk about?

Astralsuzy

I do not know if it is the third eye.  I do know you can ap when you see images.  Focus on the images.  Do not think of your physical self otherwise it will end.  If you get involved in it, you will ap there.

Hi Suzy!

Its strange because lately I don't see scenery as in a place. I see objects or people. If I focus on these images and I ap, will I end up with the objects?

Bedeekin

Do you know what you mean by 'and I AP'?

It's not as simple as that. You must passively observe these images. Don't try to make any moves just observe the passing images and see where they lead you.

If anything you can attempt to draw yourself into becoming anchored to the scene... but before you do that you must know what it is to actually draw yourself into it.

And thats where I'm at right now. I feel like I'm so close. How does one anchor into a scene?

 Here's one way: http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_astral_consciousness/anchored_in_the_astral-t37323.0.html

It's using the word more literal though.

Your curiosity is what Anchors you in the astral.

You may start of seeing a tree, then focus deeper and start to see leaves etc. Then you start to see the background behind the tree. Every little thing draws you deeper in the scenario. Then you actually reach down and pick up a flower. You smell it. You start to feel a breeze hitting your face or hear a rushing rapid behind you.

Now you are anchored!

Bedeekin

Thanks Lionheart. I was going to say the same thing.

It's a metaphor for keeping yourself involved with the nonphysical... by touch, sight... sound... emotional interest.. focus.

:) Thanks guys,

The trouble I have with this method is that I try to focus and I guess I do it a little too hard. And then I lose it completely. But usually I focus on the visual aspect. Maybe I will try to focus more on the other senses this time around; touch, sound, smell.  Maybe this will help suck me in rather then push me away. I really appreciate the help you guys have given me. Thank you!

But one more question...
I often see either people or random objects such as food or pencils...ect.  For example, if I am to see a person...would I just try to visualize a setting in the background?

If you see a person, talk to them and listen to what they are saying. This uses sound.

If you see a pencil, pick it up and use it. This uses touch?

Do you see what I mean?

Don't necessarily try to visualize it. ALLOW it to appear!

You do not focus too hard.  You have to observe like the others said.  You have to stay relaxed and notice what you see without thinking about your physical self.  You do not need to focus on smell, touch etc.  That is from my experiences.  You just have to observe and you should become part of the picture.  Lionheart got a good idea.  He said pick up a pencil or whatever it is.  I never tried that.  I usually am already in the picture then I start doing things.

Exactly this. The only thing that frustrates me is sometimes the image will be in the corner of my eye and I can't make out what it is unless I move my eyeballs. It's almost like programming... I need to forget about my physical at that time. Yet everytime I move my eyeballs to observe the images.

Bedeekin

It's just practice.

As you progress you will probably stumble at each surprise. Surprise and astonishment are natural... it is as you said in built into us to direct our eyes to movement.

ahhh lol i can see the most vivid images meditating but i can never get inside it i start to think about it what it is whats going on what the people animals or whatever is doing. then im so caught up in what is happening with a random image i end up just wiping my mind clean. i can even get sounds with the images but nothing i think i think to much. lol i have to let go, and just go with the experience.
just my opinion on the issue to me it is fact to you it is only a possibility? just saying think about it.

Astralsuzy

I do not think about the animals, people or what they are doing.  I just look at the scene.  I ap there and I become a part of the picture.  If I get impatient I get out of my body.
