do we project to lower realms when we're physically unwell?

Hi guys, I'm just wondering about something that happened last night.

I was unwell all day yesterday with flu/cold but was constantly thinking about projecting. So last night I found myself in a dream-like scene where I was trying to rest in the middle of a busy over-populated city with close friends or family.  We were surrounded by the locals who probably felt invaded and a couple of them had long metallic poles which they were going to use to poke or whack us with.  I felt irritated by this and suddenly leaped out at the men, who fled away with fear. Encouraged by this I jumped up and actually discovered I could fly.  That's when I became conscious, I think.  Because I started focussing on things as targets and flying to them.  I was mostly jumping from one skyscraper to another.  This city has 10 times more skyscrapers than New York!  While the flying and jumping was exhilarating, I was getting away from someone, which was mostly about fear, and therefore not very enjoyable.  So, could this be a lower dimension, because I wasn't in a good frame of mind during the day?  There's also a lot of information on how our emotional state influences OBEs.  William Buhlman talks about a dense dimension near the physical one.  Others also talk about the 'crustal' dimension, namely Dr Viera, who also wrote about one of his OBEs to a 'hellish' place where no one flies and people are treated like slaves!

What do you think?  Dream or OBE? And where's that amazing busy city?!

I think it was just a dream. When you became conscious (wait, you're not even sure you became conscious...) did you think or feel as though you were dreaming or did you think or feel like you were in the Astral (during the experience or after)? Sometimes, you may have to just go by how you felt during the experience but it seems like it was just a dream to me. I guess maybe it could have became a Lucid Dream if you really did gain lucidity during flight.

Thanks Prophazuh (what an unusual name - does it mean anything?)

What I know is, I was quite emotional, and emotion (or frustration) was what made me leap out at the men, then fly to the sky. At that point, I started making decisions on what to focus on and where to fly to - which is why I said I may have been conscious.  Towards the end, I run out of energy and couldn't fly or jump as I wanted, so I panicked (somehow, I thought the authorities were after me).

From what I read, apparently sometimes we visit astral places whether we are sleeping or in semi-lucid state. Sometimes, not always. (Ref: Robert Monroe, Ultimate Journey, and Dr Waldo Vieira, Projections of the Consciousness).

So now you know why I'm confused....

It's a really interesting theory, but unfortunately I'm not all that experienced to make a call on it.  It does sounds like you got the awareness but remained in the same level that you were dreaming if that is possible.  I wonder if you had demanded to go to a higer dimention that would have worked?

Anyway, hope you are recovering from your cold x

Lucidity is not an OBE in the ordinary definition, some say it is a IBE (In body experience). It is true that it is an astral level but it is a "created astral level", generic if you will, created by you. Think of it this way, in an actual OBE you can use etheric matter and with your mind create objects, which you then use in the Astral dimension you are in. In a Lucid dream you have all ready done so, that is what a dream is, and you are immersed in the very etheric matter that your mind has all ready created. In order to access an actual astral plane you must first unravel yourself from the etheric cover that is covering you so to speak. People do this in different ways and there is a thread on the AP devoted to learning this particular thing.
