hi Kitty Katty !

There's still a lot of debate as to what does & what does not constitute an "OBE".

In my opinion, dreams - lucid dreams - OBE are part of a continuum of conciousness....but there are plenty of people here who disagree.

dear KittyKatty
To me its sounded like you had a dream, and the tiredness in your body could be of all the moving around you did (then again i could be wrong) [:)]. Anyway the dream seems to carry a message for you, a preparing perhaps.

How was your consciousness? Was it like when you dream and are not very lucid, or were you more aware than when you are physically awake?
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Hi KittyKatty,

As others like Clandestino and Fallenangel have mentioned, there is a debate as the relation between, dreams, lucid dreams and astral experiences.
I am of the line of thought that they are all in fact the same thing, the only difference being your level of conscious awareness, as this is the simplest explanation and makes the most sense IMO, although of course, as said earlier, there are plenty of people who would disagree with this theory.

As I see it, dreams ARE astral experiences, but where our level of awareness is below normal as our subconscious takes over. Our immediate astral suroundings are generated by our subconscious and we then play along to the scenario our subconscious has in mind for us.

Lucid dreams are where our awareness rises slightly and we realise this is happening, then we can take over control of events, or even better, we can dismiss our subconsciously created astral suroundings and appear in the astral Proper.

So in effect, everyone has an 'astral experience' every night, but most of humanity dismisses this as 'just a dream'. This is a modern trait of course. Our tribal ancestors set great store on information from dreams and looked at them with high regard.

Now modern researchers like Monroe advise us to 'maximise our sleep periods' as they are very important!

Douglas

I was trying to A.P. this morning.  I was really tired so I stopped trying, so I pulled my covers up.  A few mins later, My body felt like it was rising but it was being pushed down. (I didn't know if it was my thick blanket or something else.) I could here my sister dragging her feet in the carpet of our room.  Then I looked and I saw myself.  And whats weird is, It was black and white (But then again, I dont even know this is part of the dream).  Then after that, Everything turned into a crazy dream.  I heard that sometimes when trying to do this, It'll turn into a dream.  Someone told me that.  This is the first time happening.  It's strange, I just let it happen.  I was too tired.  When I was back in my body, I sat up and looked at my sister...  I felt like screaming.  I know nothing about A.P. but I've tried for several months now, and this is the first time I got this.

(BTW, I got this website from a user on MediaDriven.  His username there was Squeek.  I'm Kat. If you're out there, Squeek... I've been lookin' for you!)
