Wow! I had my first real experience of an AP this morning! I listened to some binaural beats for 30 minutes, then eventually started going in and out of partial SP. I decided I just better go ahead and fall asleep and see what happened, as this is how I got close last time two weeks ago. So I eventually fell asleep and dreamed I was a cowboy on this small island in the Caribbean. I was stuck on the shore of this steep sand slope that I couldn't climb up, so I got out my rope and Lasso'd onto this giant rock up on top. In the dream, as soon as I lasso'd the rock and pulled it tight all the sudden I felt this extremely strong falling/floating sensation out of my body, and I was immediately looking at my room and holding onto a white glowing rope.
My astral body was at a 45 degree angle and it felt as though I was standing on my bed, but still attached to my physical body from shin area down. I was pulling on this rope and trying to climb as hard as I could but it felt like I was too weak! I literally could not pull myself all the way out. I was so frustrated because I was so excited to finally be out of my body and I wanted to get the full experience. I noticed that I had 360 degree vision all at once, and I noticed that a few things about my room were different, most notably the curtains were a different color. Well after about 60 seconds of tugging and tugging on that rope to get out, I laid back in my body and tried the "roll out" technique, but with the same result. My upper body rolled out and halfway off my bed, but my feet were still attached so I only rolled at an angle and couldn't get free! I was so frustrated. Immediately I opened my physical eyes and I was laying in the exact same position I fell asleep in.
So while very exciting that I got to experience it for a moment, also wondering why I can't seem to get my feet free. Might be a mental block I'm creating? Have any of you guys heard of this happening before, and what is your advice for next time?
Definitely a projection. So grats on that. :)
It's a common problem... a body part (or multiple) being stuck.
It's really hard to say what causes it. It could be a subconscious belief thing for one reason or another.
I've read that people have woken up and found that the body part that was "stuck" was wrapped in blankets or in some way "restricted".
It could be almost anything.
What I'd suggest is to stop what you're doing and simply relax.
Then visualize yourself completely free and perhaps somewhere else, but the being free part isn't about being free from your body... think of a time when you FELT completely free. Perhaps running through a field when you were a child. Just use that.
The more you 'struggle' when you're feeling stuck, the harder it is to get unstuck. So simply stop fighting it and change directions... directions mentally and literally. :)

Ahh...that makes alot of sense. That's definitely how it felt. The harder I tried the harder it was, felt like I had the biceps of a 9 year old girl LOL.
I wondered if the fact that I was struggling with it was reinforcing the belief that it was too hard...which I think was the case. It was definitely one of those "Matrix" moments where I heard Morpheus' voice in my head asking "do you think that your ability to pull yourself out of your body has anything to do with your muscles in this realm?"
Why the 'almost'? Sure you were a little stuck, but you DID it and now you KNOW you can do it! (Doesn't it feel great!?) Congratulations - they'll get better from here.
A similar thing happened to me the first time I woke up to an AP. The top half of me was sitting up in bed, but the lower half felt like I was being pinned down by something. I, however, freaked out and woke myself up. :|
With some advice from Sxazz, I made up my mind that next time I would not be afraid and it worked. Decide now that you won't be stuck next time and I'm sure you'll see results.
Here's some more, although you THOUGHT you were glued to your body, when you have 360degree vision youd see one only if your thoughts generated it.
My experiences with this, I had no body by thinking this and had full vision in all directions. Now not having any body, just a point of visual awareness, any stuck together body parts dissolved into nothing. This is what I learned to do and you ARE instantly free to move in any direction you want to.
With no body, how can you be stuck?
I learned to let go of the physical ways and adapt to this new thought controlled way things work.

Haha yes you're right. I guess I say "almost" cuz I wanted the full experience. But yes it was an actual AP so I should just celebrate the victory. I realized later on after my post that my feet felt stuck because in the dream where I was a cowboy, my feet were stuck in the sand/mud, so when I projected I still believed or felt like I was stuck. Then pulling as hard as I could on the rope only furthered the belief that I was stuck. Next time I'll try to imagine myself free as a bird. It's just so difficult because I work out a lot, so I always come into it with the mentality of "I'm going to force my way out with brute strength". But in the astral that doesn't work. It's all mind, which makes it difficult at first. I will get it though! I'll post back here when I have another successful projection.
Thanks for the advice!

That would be correct I guess. It was weird because it felt like I still had my full physical body, it felt no different. I suppose that's because my thoughts and image of myself generated the body. But if I said 360 degree vision I should correct myself, I couldn't see immediately behind me, but I had like 25% more peripheral vision on either side. It was weird because the back left side of the room looked like it was overlapping the front left side of the room I was staring at. That's why I say it felt like 360 vision. But yes, next time I will try to remind myself that I am simply a floating point of consciousness with no body to be stuck. I'll imagine myself as a dandelion petal floating in the breeze or something lol. These mind games are tricky as heck at first.
Infiltrate, adapt and overcome.
You'll get there without any force.
Mindset, intent and passivity will really help you here in this mind-field.

Haha that's the tough one for me right now. Learning how to have intent and passivity at the same time. It feels like a constant mind-strengthening exercise. But I am loving the journey!

Yes, letting go of the physical is definitely a learning experience, speaking for myself. We are so used to having a physical body so when we don't it kind of messes with your head if you know what I mean. There is a comfort zone there that takes a bit to get through. A lot going on with our attachment to the physical, including our body so be patient and keep at it, sounds like you are doing well.
Rather than start a new thread I figured I'd just post this in here...
WOW!! I just got closer than ever to a full body conscious exit! Technically I did it but I didn't realize it was not still in the physical which ended the experience, twice.
I was laying on my couch and had gone through my whole routine, and was letting myself fall asleep. Probably 4-5 times I wake on the verge of sleep with that extremely warm sensation of floating or falling, which arouses me enough to wake me back up. Well after the 4th or 5th time, I finally woke up and this time there was an extremely violent SURGE of warmth and floating/falling, and this time it was accompanied with the loud Astral Wind noise that I haven't heard in months. Well just as it was happening, it felt like my right leg was having some uncontrollable spasm because it was moving off the side of the couch (as though to make me do the Splits) and I thought "stupid leg! what are you doing? you're going to ruin my projection attempt!" So thinking that my leg was about to fall off the couch and wake me up, I fought it as hard as I could and finally got it to stop at a 45 degree angle, which I didn't realize would have already made it well off the side of the couch if I was in the physical.
So all the sudden my eyes popped open and I was looking at my leg that I was thinking about, and it was jettisoned off to the side floating in the air. My two physical legs were wrapped tightly in the blanket I was sleeping in, and I thought "WTF?!" and then realized I had been feeling my ASTRAL leg all along! I felt so stupid! This sent me back to the physical. However I laid there to try again and sure enough I was back in the astral wind and extreme floating sensation. It felt like I was sinking out of my physical body, almost like it was crumbling in on itself like paper mache, and I suddenly felt it impossible to breathe. It felt like I was suffocating! And I thought "My physical body isn't breathing so if I leave it here I'm going to suffocate!" So I was fighting the sinking sensation to get back in my body and trying to breathe at the same time. I woke up to find myself breathing normally and thought "why did it feel so strongly like I was suffocating?"
Anyways, just super excited about making new progress here! I am learning what these sensations feel like one failed attempt at a time, so the next time I encounter them I will know how to respond. I am so close I can taste it!!!
A recent post I made hinted at letting the body di the breathing for you. You actually witnessed this for yourself. You'd normally breathe with upper chest muscles when concious. The body breathes with the diaphragm. If you had let things be, you'd have walked out into the NP.
As you refused to drop the physical you took back the breathing and removed the activating SP you were in.
Yep fear caused another fail. Once you've done this successfully a few times you'll recall it's feel and go with the new experience that's occuring and forget ever being physical bodied.
Almost there, let nature take control. You'll see what we mean by a natural process.
It's smoother than silk and flows like a chocolate river.

I am discovering how true that is. The deeper into the process I go, the more I realize its just about getting out of the way. It's amazing how it works. All I do is set my mental intention that I want to go out of body...and then allow myself to fall asleep. minutes later I wake up with all the wizz-bang sensations and I'm off. It's like someone else is doing it all for me.
Thanks as always for the advice Szaxx
