I for one have once considered myself asexual because of the complete lack of desire/curiosity/subconscious manifestations of things related to this. It's gotten myself into a lot of trouble before, even close friends calling out and flat out saying that I was lying... But honestly, I just don't care one way or another. I'll go ahead and leave the rest of my social life out of it. Nobody's business. I don't think there's anything wrong with me, I just can't relate at all.

I'm always surprised how negative it is taken by a lot of people. I've been flat out accused that no one would ever love me because of it. I've been accused that I must have been raped as a child in some sort of repressed memory. It has taken me to the brink before of believing that there was something seriously wrong with me, but I'm at peace now. Just take it as it comes. I'm glad I haven't outright caused hostility by you guys, though I was half expecting it, haha!

If you believe something with all your heart, even in the physical you will be affected by your thoughts.  I remember thinking there was a spirit/demon messing with me one night when I was studying for finals.  I freaked myself out so much that when I laid on the bed I literally felt something move my hair and touch my nose when I was trying to sleep.  The more I focused on it, the worst it became.   As soon as I stopped paying attention to it, it went away completely.

From my experience, any approach from a religious or belief system can be a hindrance unless someone is already well versed in the matter.

I'm not saying that it is a bad thing but it may all be too much foe a beginner if they think they have to learn all the spiritual teachings before they can have an OOBE when an open mind is all that is needed.

I totally agree from the above statements.  If we have any beliefs that humans have put into our minds, its their reality they are pushing on us.  For me, I'll believe anything I experience and make my conclusion based on my own personal development.
