Old Soul

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, I'm new to this site, and even new to posting in forums in general. I've been interested in Astral Projection for quite some time. A while back, I began to enter sleep paralysis. At first I was scared, and then I eventually got past it. I would lay in bed, and when I realized I was in sleep paralysis, I would imagine floating upward. Only once did I come very close to successfully astral projecting. It was amazing. I was in paralysis, my eyes were closed, and suddenly, I saw my own face flash back at me. Then I felt I was shooting straight up into the air. It was unbelievable. Of course, I got too excited and it stopped at that... Now I can't even get into paralysis. I used to be able to lay in bed and start feeling vibrations and put myself into paralysis, but now that doesn't work either. I just lay there like an idiot trying to relax myself and wait for something to happen. Not sure what happened to me. Someone please help me figure this out. I want to astral project. I feel it is an important beginning to a spiritual journey I've been longing to embark on.

Thank you.

Instead of trying to climb out of your body, why not change your approach and try to get into your consciousness. Turn in, not out.

When you are in SP or trying to AP, try to create a scenario and join it. Start simple, this could be as easy as shooting basketball. Just visualize the ball coming out of your hands and into the hoop. Play this over and over again until you NOTICE that the scene is starting to take on a life of it's own. This is when you stay the course and see it through.

Try some kind of Hobby or sport you enjoy. Try a walk on a beach or in a meadow. Experiment with it.

Sometimes we put so much effort into physically climbing out of the body that can't see we are already there!

Old Soul , seems like you so close!

Try waking up earlier in the morning and staying up for 30mins or so then heading back to bed.. then next time you hit SP don't wuss out!  :-P

I was in the same position! I would get to the point of no return numerous times but i would always come back because of being scared/all being to much for me

Think of it as your getting better every time!

Never thought of it that way.....I am in the same boat, relying too much on what I am feeling..

This is spot on advice.

I stopped actively getting out a long time ago.. It's difficult to achieve in the first place and you are in essence adding a crap load of extra work to the process. It is almost like going to space and spending all your time putting on the spacesuit and realising you missed the rocket. A closer analogy would actually be that you are already IN SPACE.

As soon as you enter SP your consciousness is already nonphysical. You are still however receiving partially physical awareness. Any detail and/or sensation you are obsessing about will keep you firmly grounded and your awareness will bias your physical naturally. It's been doing that since you were born.

It's one of the reasons that I have always said in the past, wait for the 'vibrations' to calm down. They will... they crescendo then fall.. crescendo then fall... it's cyclic. The reason you are waiting for the storm to calm isn't because you are in the right vibrational resonance etc.. it's because it's easier to focus away from your physical body.

So like Lionheart says... turn your attention inward using visualisation. If vision doesn't string your bow then try a tactile approach imagine, your phone or a ball in your hand, when you feel it start playing with it in your hand. Once you feel it... you are basically there. if that doesn't work for you try listening for an alternative environment to your own.

Precisely. You can actually wake up and wait for a few hours before you attempt. There seems to be a sweet spot or SP window of opportunity for about 5 hours long, after you have woken from a dreamless sleep in the morning.

If you maybe used to get SP at night before sleep it may have been because you were having naps in the evening or you nodded off before getting up and actually going to bed. Try napping an hour or a few before you finally go to bed.

If you used to do it in the middle of the night you were waking up after a sleep... probably when you micro-woke before you slipped into an REM cycle.

If you want to recreate your familiar SP the basic secret is to have had a at the most 4-5 hours prior to inducing. That is the key. Whether it be night, middle-night or morning.

This information is based upon my own and how it seems to play out with those I have taught. It's very simple.

Waking from a sleep and then going back to bed 1/2 and hour to 4 hours later = Sleep Paralysis. It's physiological... it's the loophole.
