Lucid dreaming and OBE are the same, or almost. IN OBE you are more conscious and lucid than in lucide dreaming. OBE starts from awake while lucid dreaming starts from a dream. Any how OBE can happen very close to the physical world, and then everything will look like in the physical world. But that world is subject to change any time. An OBE can easily turn into a dream like world, and it is still an OBE. For example if someone is disoriented in an OBE (because of the panoramic vision) then things start to happen, like a door is not at its place, and when you open it, you will not find what you expected there, because your mind has to make up for the rest that is not in the physical world (since the door does not seem to be where it is supposed to be, then where it leads is unknown and your mind is making it up). In other words: the astral world can be changed by our thoughts and mind, it is not fixed. Only when the gody is completely idle or in a coma or dead, is the OBE very close to the physical. You must reach a high level of energy to get to the physical-like astral world. Keep us informed of your experiences, thanks!

So... what I had was an OBE but not a fully conscious OBE?

It was weird though because I "walked" just like I had feet.

I thought in OBEs you had to FLOAT to get to your destination.

How can I tell if I was OBE and that I am actually seeing things that are in the physical?

I guess I need to look at a watch or clock or something and see if I really was, but thats the only thing I can think of.

I really need to work on fully conscious OBEs. I alawys get these.... half conscious OBEs.... if thats what they really are.

Also, during the experience, where I said I went to my freind's house's block, I saw kids playing. Now, it was about 7:40 something AM. Kids wouldnt be playing at that time of the day.

So what did I see?

Also when I saw my neihbors house.... there were poeple outside the house like a family waiting to take a picture. When I woke up though I looked at the house and nobody was outside, in fact there was only 1 car, and usually there are 3 cars in the drive way.... meaning that some people of the house had left and gone to work.

So who were these people I saw? Were they other astral bodies? Perhaps people's astral body while they are sleeping?

Or just people of my imagination?

Thanks for the reply shaman.

Hello Quiet Storm,

Since i began attempting projection ive had tons of dreams of OBEs. It is a good sign because it shows you have a true desire to AP.
heres how i knew i was dreaming:

Couldnt remember exiting the body

Very dreamy (not vivid)

I couldnt have full control over my body

would slip completely into a dream (ex: dream of waking up afterwards)

As far as I know mine were dreams perhaps somewhat lucid but nothing more. Chances are if you think your dreaming, then you probably were, Ive been told that a true OBE can seem even more vivid then real life.

Im walking on sunshine :)

I had another one today!

I tried to consciously project while laying on my back.

I had the Tommi's Vibrations preset from BrainWave Generator burned onto a CD.

Well, the whole preset played, which is about 30 minutes and I never felt a mind split occur.

I got up, still having my eyes closed, to see if I could force myself out of my body. Well, needless to say, I was unsuccessful and my physical body lifted up with me.

Frustrated, I took off my headphones and turned to my side to get some sleep.

I dunno why but I have a greater chance at getting lucid dreams when I take a little nap during the day. I had one today.

I was dreaming... about something... I was listening to some Ludacris song that isnt real.... but it had a good beat!

Well.... then I felt enourmous pressure in my ears, almost like my ear drums were about to pop. Then I became aware that I was sleeping so my dream faded into gray... then black.

My ears were still hurting so I lifted my body and cupped my ears waiting for my eardrums to pop. Then I realized that my ears stopped hurting and I heard (or felt) some sort of click while I lifted my body up. My upper torso was up, like in a sitting position but my feet was still in the body. So then I somehow rolled over and my lucid dream/astral body fell off the bed.

I felt myself get stuck between my CrossBow weight resistance workout machine and my bed. Then I got up. Everything was dreamy. I tried to fly out of my window... but then everything turned gray again and then to black and then I was back in my body. I dont know why this happened, I was not excited at all because this isnt new to me.

Well, I was frustrated because I knew it wasnt going to happen again, I was fully awake this time.

I got up and analyzed the space between my bed and my Crossbow Machine..... theres no way my astral body could've gotten stuck between them... the space is too big.... weird.

Hallo Quiet Storm [:)]
I pretty much agree with what the others have posted with the following differences.
Lucid dreams are nearly, yet not quite, the same experiences as OBEs.
However, there is a point where some lucid dreams become OBEs. Therefore, at some point, an experience Could be both a lucid dream and an OBE simultaneously. This is confusing but it makes sense because it explains why many people are unsure if they had a lucid dream or an OBE or both.[?]
However, dreams about out of body experiences ARE OBEs. The clarity of consciousness is not what it could be but it is still a full (ethereal) projection. So, IMHO, you did experience full blown OBEs. (The first experience began as a dream and may have simultaneously been a dream and an OBE for a short while.)

I had another Lucid dream to OBE!

This one was strange.

I was dreaming, and all of a sudden I heard a knock. It wasnt a knock on my door, it wasn't a knock on the physical. I dont know where the knock came from, but I did hear it. This sound made me aware and I woke up and I saw the blackness under my closed eyelids.

I decided to see if I can project out of my body so I stood up, and seperated from physical body. At the same time I did this I opened my Astral eyes. Opening my astral eyes made my physical eyes open slightly. So, I had like an astral screen under my physical eyelids, and at the bottom my eyelids were a little open so I saw light peering through. It was weird, and hard to describe also.

I found myself in my room for like 1 second, (my perception was a little hazy) and... I was thinking about traveling through my window, but I didnt want to just yet, but since I was thinking about it, I was still drifting into the window like some unknown force was pulling me.

I was going through the window and..... I saw what REALLY is outside in the physical! Meaning that it wasn't just some unknown landscape, I was actually traveling outside!

But just as I almost finished going through the window.... since my physical eyelids were still a little bit open, I freaking woke up and foud myself back in my body!

So, I have a couple questions....

1. Did I have to open my astral eyes? I noticed that as I was seperating from my body, I still saw black, and then I thought that I had to just open my astral eyes, but as you know that had also opened my physical eyes a little bit. If I project, and all I see is black, how can I bring visual perception? Can I just will it or demand it and it will come?

2. What can I do to stay out of body longer? I have never traveled into the Astral Plane, only the Real Time zone, with some fluctuations (whatever you call it). I always find that after a short time of seperating, everything turns gray, then to black, and then I am in my body again. I hate this! I want it to last longer!

Quiet_Storm

I just got a couple about an hour ago.

I had just finished my morning excercise and decided to take a little nap.

I never fully fell asleep. I was always in a light sort of dream state.

So, I became conscious in my body with my eyes closed and everything. (I think)

I felt sort of weird. I decided to lift up my arm, to see if I could maybe see my astral body arm. What I saw was my arm.... but it didn't "melt" away like other people might see. It was a full arm but just where I focused my eyes on I would see through it.

I decided to roll over and then I found myself standing in my room. But my room was all cluttered. My vision was actually the same as in the real world..... just my mind was a little hazy. (dream?) My room had a brown desk in it that I know I dont have in my real room, and it was next to the door. So I figured that I would head out my window.

I went outside my window, and then I saw that I wasn't really outside. I mean, I was, but I know it wasn't the same lanscape and everything as in the real world. It was different. I saw a bunch of people outside the house across from me and then I decided to go over there. I tried "floating" over there but it didn't work. Then I tried "walking" as if I had feet, and it DID work..... thats how I kind of figured out that maybe this is a dream. I still went through things though. They all felt solid, but at the same I can go through them.

Now, it was taking a while to get where I wanted across the street so I decided I can JUMP over there. When I jumped, it took me to a freinds house like 5 blocks away. I didn't see myself fly over there. I just appeared there somehow.

Then I decided to see if I can travel back to my house but everthing went black and I found myself back in my body with my eyes closed. Then I felt the falling sensations.

I then tried to get out again, by forcing my self. I felt as if my astral body detached itself from the physiscal body. I found myself in the same room, same features.

I went out the window again, but this time it was a compeltely different landscape. But still it was "outside" Then I got discouraged and then found myself back in my body.

Then I tried to project AGAIN by forcing myself and detached and then tried to  go through my door. When I went through my door, everything went black and I foud myself back in my body.

I think I had a weird type of lucid dream. I think the whole time I was dreaming. EVEN when I was inside my body and I couldnt see anything because my eyes were closed. I was conscious through out the whole dream, but not conscious that I was in a dream. I kept thinking that this was out of body.

I remembered EVERYTHING. Nothing was left out. I remember everything in full detail.

This isnt the first time I had these types of dreams. What do you think all this means?

Should I have just ridden out that falling sensation I had until I naturally project? I kind of learned that if I force myself to project I probably would just end up in a lucid dream of an out of body experience, but not a REAL one.

i would like some feedback
