congrats on your development.  vibrations are a sign that you were close. i've been at phases that i thought were close, only to realize there is more to go than i thought. but the vibes are a very good sign.

ordering ad was the best thing you could have done. read it a few times . really. the goal of the book, however, is for a conscious exit projection w/out breaking consciousness. falling asleep and waking to part of the projection process is easy but risky if you are putting some effort and time into doing energy and trance work. you may find that you do all of this work and you dont wake up more than half of the time.  there are a fair amount of cases on here that show people doing exactly what you've done and how they plan on keeping it that way. it definetly works, but the certainty of projection is unpredictable.

i'm not trying to talk you out of doing what you have planned. by all means, experiment. it's one of the best things for development. keep in mind though that the book you are about to receive is aimed at conscious projection, which has not been easy for me and has been very frustrating for others.  i would say that learning what's in the book is easy. i would say that being able to ap when you want is very difficult. of course everyone will vary here. some people take to it quicker than others. while others have been practicing for years w/ no success.

do not let this deter you. anything that's worth this much effort is usually well worth it. if you have any problems, stick em up here and we'll take care of them. good luck projecting.

Keep trying-you are close.

In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

Oh, fredhedd, I didn't want to fall asleep.  It just happened.  If the AD book has alternatives to this that will be great.  The books that I have read so far do not go into a great detail about a conscious projection.  Until you told me that the AD book was geared for this, I didn't know.  I am soooo glad to hear this!!!!!

And I wanted to stay awake.  I don't actually remember falling asleep. I remember waking.  Like I said, it just happened..  My one and only true experience was a conscious experience while wide awake..and I wasn't even trying to do it.  I did not believe it possible at the time and it was the furtherest thing from my mind.  Which is ironic in itself.  Because in being awake when it happened, it also deeply awaked me on other levels.  This would not have happened to me has I been alseep or had a lucid dream which I have my doubts about.

I, was awake and aware during my experience and I can't forget how it felt to see things of such beauty while laying in my bed with my eyes closed.  I don't know when it will ever happen again like that but I will always try and strive for everything to be perfect during each meditative session so I can go back OR be ready for it when it finds me again..

I will take your advice and probably read AD several times.  I have read the 20 page inserts from Amazon that many times at least.  I have read most of my books that many times.  Its a great absorbing reading technique besides loving to read..  And if AD is as good as I hear it is on this site and if it is about consciousness projection I will end up changing my daily med sessions for something else that will be geared more toward something in this book.  What I have done in the last year has not worked for me but I don't know any other way right now..  I have felt vibrations many times which means nothing to me anymore.  I can sit here in my chair in front of the computer right now and close my eyes and concentrate and hear the slight buzzing in my ears coming to greet me in a matter of 30 seconds.  But that's all..  nothing else.

I don't want there to be any doubt in my own mind about the validity of any experience that I have..  I need to validate what experiences I have.   I don't want lucid dreaming.  I want full ego awareness every time..  I want the real thing..[remember the coke commercial..?] Well, it's true.  Pepsi was  and is no substitute..  [my late night pun]  hehe.

I am going to go.  But first, something else I agree with you on... I probably have further to go than I think in many ways concerning projection...  But I will get there...  And somehow I know I will be successful..  I don't now when or how, but I will get there.

I have only had one astral experience where I actually went somewhere.
But..I have had other conscious experiences that are just as awsome in trying to recreate the first time again.

I have felt energy moving up my body while laying in bed that was so overpowering that I just lay there and laughed...wide awake with open eyes while my husband lay beside me sleeping.. It felt like a wave of something wonderful that started at my ankles and moved upward till I was enveloped from the mid-chest down.  It was a joyful thing and my laughter was spontaneous.  But my eyes were open..  Not closed.. Open, literaly.

I have been so close I have felt like I was racing though a maze of colors but going nowhere so finally I just opened my eyes and marveled at this.   But it was beautiful.  I was awake for this too.

I will get there fredhedd.  I just don't know what to do.  I hope Robert's book is my answer.

And thank you for your words.  They were well written and have given me hope.

Sincerely,
Blossom

being awake when it' s happening is definetly spectacular, like you said.  the actual transition that takes place when you project is something that opens you right up.  any doubts you've had about anything like this just get tossed.  it's a life altering experience, for the better i believe.

you have the right attitude w/ wanting to take it slowly and do everything perfectly.  this can't be stressed enough for optimum development.

changing your meditation session is something that i think occurs naturally when you find out about something like this.  i changed mine when i read ad.  at first i pretty much stopped doing it altogether because i was so interested in projecting.  i was probably rushing things at first but i learned to slow it down. eventually i just incorporated my meditation into the trance and energy work.  i suggest giving this a shot if you think it would suit you.  there are many different types of meditation. i've found that the one where you keep your mind clear of all thoughts, or at least try to, has been my favorite to go along w/ my practices. if you've had any success in doing this it will fit right in to the trance state.  if you havent done this type of meditation,  maybe you should ck it out.  holding your mind completely clear of any thoughts is extremely difficult. it took me months just to be able to keep it clear for more than four or five seconds. usually the thing that would break the emptyness would be me noting that i was doing it.  it's actually kinda funny when you get to that point cause you know that you are doing it and you know that you don't have to note it.  right after that is you noting that you didnt note that you were doing it.  it's a visciously ironic chain that you have to break through in order to be able to abide in that calmness.  i'm up to about 30-40 seconds on average w/out thought. in one of carlos' books i believe he wrote that don juan relayed to him that everyone has their own personal time threshold that they must cross in order to be able to abide in that calmness indefinetly. whether it be thirty seconds or three minutes or ten. everyone is different and w/ effort you can reach your threshold and when you do you'll be able to abide in that, w/out effort.  it is very difficult though. the feeling you get when you accomplish this even for ten seconds is amazing. i believe it's ineffable and that's why there are so many buddhist analogies that seem to contradict themself. for example, my favorite one is one they use to describe that exact state that you are in when there is no thought, no thinker, no effort to accomplish it, they say that it's 'like light illuminating itself'.  pure awareness is what comes to mind. my whole point of brining this up was to tell you from my own personal experience how much this 'feeling' amplifies when you are in a good trance state. it literally feels like you disappear into nothingness and you  no longer exist. it's bliss. any attempt to describe it doesnt do it justice.

also meditations on love are very strong when you are in a good trance state because you can work on energizing your heart chakra, which i believe makes it all the more visceral.

you being able to feel or hear any type of vibration in less then thirty seconds is impressive. all of this w/out the use of ad is also very impressive. you may have a real knack for this. hopefully when you receive ad you read through it and your development sky rockets

there won't be any doubt in your mind once you  are accomplished at this. validity won't be a problem and as soon as you do validate the experience, your mind will rest a little easier and you will be able to concentrate on flying through walls instead :) i've done some research on writings and people who are in opposition of the validity of oobe's.  there is one that comes to mind at www.lucidity.com which has a text written by someone.. i cant remember his name right now, but i believe the person who wrote it was a very intelligent person, maybe did some research for lucid dreaming.  this person is convinced that oobe's are actually lucid dreams and has some good points to support his own experiences.  they were obviously enough to convince him that the experiences that he has had ( which include a large amt of lucid dreams .. well over a thousand and numerous oobe's)  were actually  ld's.  i don't comdemn him or his opinions.  this is just the way the experiences he had were perceived.   it's always good to x reference and get some good opposing thoughts.  after you find that your experience surpasses all of their tests or criticism, it makes it all the better.

i always liked coke better myself.

here is something fun that i accidentally found out about.  the energy that you mentioned flowing through you while you were in bed is something is covered in ad.  it's a very awesome feeling.  i've found that the more energy i get flowing through my body, the more the person sleeping next to me twitches.  i've had the oppurtunity to do this w/ two different people.  both of them girls who are close friends of mine.  one of them woke up once when i was doing it.  coulda been she was just ready to wake up .. could have been not.  also if you focus as much as you can on your hand while it's placed on a part of someones body, especially someone that's sleeping because they are more relaxed and open to this sort of thing, that parts of their body will react very well.

it's possible that the endless maze of colors you were experiencing were one of the gateways to the planes.  they can be filled w/ color and the tubelike structured ones, i've found, don't have an end. some of them are black and white and some of them have amazing color in them. i've experienced ones w/ music playing in them. they are very fun.  it's similar to an endless roller coaster. gl

Hi Blossom,

You might want to try your tree meditation in a specific room only, standing or sitting.Try for it for say 15 minutes a day.At the end of the meditation allow yourself to completly sense the room and its detail around to a real like state of being.(no peeking, eyes must be closed http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0> )
This makes for an excelent target as you've just induced a trance state while in your target zone during the pysical.
While practicing your o.b techniuqe upon reaching trance focus your concoiusness to that room.

P.S practice other stuff, read lots and stick with these fourms. Its all good for conditioning as well as hieghtened awarness.

Peace!

Patty

I wanted to mention that water in dreams symbolizes spirit.

Your dream of swimming across a mossy lake with your family behind you, towards an authority figure.... Seems most fitting and in line with your intent. It is a dream rich with symbolism, but I won't analyze the whole thing for you as that really is probably best left to you. Still, the water/spirit symbolism strikes me.

My projections are from a sleeping state, the best I can do so far is drift in and out of consciousness and eventually pull away in a sticky fashion. I have taken some time away from attempts, as my children are small and require a well rested mother particularly now that the school year is getting into swing.  I think also there is something to be said for 'need.' In my experience, my personal need dictates the intensity of experience, which really pisses me off as I would love to explore the universe but honestly 'need' to be present exactly where I am.  Still, I can rail at it and have an occasional projection.

Good luck!

Patty

I have read all your posts several times.. and will probably try some variety of all of them.

My book should be here today.  In trackig it, it is out for delivery...  YEA!!!

Thanks for the suggestions and the hearfelt comments.  I am going to now try and find something about water/spirit dreams.  I know nothing about dreams or their interpretations.

There is so much I need to learn that is hard to figure out my priorities...

Right now, I have mostly just been concentrating on dissolving the little girls tumors the same way I did for my ecoli.. I hope she is better.

Sincerely,
Jennifer/Blossom

I think I was nearly successfull... I am very very excited by this...

I went to bed this afternoon with the intent of astral travel/projection and did repeated an affirmation to keep my mind focused while at the same time trying to visualize my house and it's other interior rooms other than my bedroom, which is where I was.  I tried to feel myself walking through my house doing familiar things.  I tried to imagine the hardwood floor against my feet and my plants on my front porch.

The result of this was sleep. But I had a very very vivid dream as a result of this. I dreamt that I was conducting a swim contest with the participants being my two daughters, my son, myself and a friend of my son's.  We were swimming across a very mossy lake and naturally I won and swam like a fish.  Then the dream changed and I was in a house with Bill Clinton, his wife and a few other people at a luncheon.

Then I woke, remembered everything about my dream somehow in that hazy state remembered that it is easy to project during this phase of sleep.  So, I began repeating my affirmation again and visualing my house again.

As I did it this time, I could tell my mind was quieter and twice during this, I very distinctly felt vibrations begin and then as I realized them for what they were, they quit. When they started I was both times visualing me walking around in my living room.  I would have kept doing this but my great dane started whining at me...  She is my baby.

I think I will eventually be successful doing it this way..  I will continue doing this exactly this way for at least a period of 30 days without changing my mode  to see how it progresses and see if I am successful in achieving an out of body experience.  If I at that time, don't see results, then I will change my mode to something else.

Does anyone with experience have any suggestions to go along with this...??  Am I doing this right?

Somehow or other, I feel once I get this down, it will be easy for me. I can't explain why I feel that way but I do.  I am so impatient for I so want to explore the universe and see all there is plus more.... Does anyone else feel like the world is waiting for them to catch up??

Blossom.

p.s.  I also decided to keep a journal.  I am using pocket diary that is a very very small download of 1.4mg from::::
http://goopers.com/programs/pdiary/download.html

p.s.s.  I just finished ordering "Astral Dynamics"!!!..  I can't wait to get it.  Amazon better hurry up...  Being patient has always been the virtue I needed the most work on....
