Pain sensations on the Astral Plane?

Hi, all.  :-)

I just came out of a projection.

I was in an city and there was a fire... I wanted to see if I felt heat in the astral realm, so I went over to the fire, really close - and I felt okay, I should have been feeling hot, but didn't... I went right up next to it, though, and suddenly - pain! I felt the heat and was afraid to go any closer, because it was painful! I wasn't aware that one could feel actual pain in the astral. I know this was likely all in my head, but still a bit unnerving.  Did I feel the pain because I expected there to be pain?

After that I went to a gathering inside of a building where a teacher was teaching a form of astral yoga. It was wonderful, and I could do every extreme, extreme stretch without any pain. Well, there was some pain when I first started a stretch, but every time I reminded myself I was in the astral, the pain would subside. I tried to do a flip, but that triggered a movement in my physical body, which took me home.

That would be your conscious mind coming into play.
You see fire and you *EXPECTED* to feel pain from it, so you did.

Really simple.

This goes for lots of other things on the Astral.
Flying... walking through solid objects...

If you think or expect to experience something, you will... even if that expectation is only in your subconscious.
That makes it harder to break, but not impossible.  :)

Hi Valkry
Remember that while you are out of body you are impervious to physical phenomena, like fire. Your astral/ethereal body can walk through a wall or window or through a big fire without harming your physical body. However you can experience mental or emotional pain during an OBE. I realize that this is a point of contention as many people believe that a person is virtually indestructable during an OBE. Yet I have read dozens of OBE accounts by people who experienced pain during various activities, (fights, falling and emotional situations tend to cause pain the most).
Consider the pain as a warning signal alerting you to a possible danger. For instance maybe the fire did not happen in the physical. The fire might have occured on an astral location and could have been a manifestation of a high power energy source. In that case it could have severely disrupted your energy and caused a premature end to the OBE.
