wow

Here is how it started:

First I saw myself fighting with a group of people until I manged to escape. I then had the power to jump from one place to another very high and very quick. Sometimes I would see lions, old trees ,and kids playing in the backyard. However I started to question my ability to jump that high until I became conscious that I was dreaming. I opened my eyes from this dream to see myself in the sky flying like crazy. I wasn't flying like superman with straight body, my legs were in front of me, bend a little bit, just like how you set on a chair with your back straight. I was flying fast though. I think I saw two suns, one that looked bright, and one that was dark.

For some reason I felt I was pulled toward that dark sun, I felt afraid. I continued flying, but I was scared if something would pop up and  possibly attack me. I saw creatures and birds flying above and underneath me. The whole planet was bright, I felt I was wearing 3D glasses, it looked amazing.

I only manged to have this experience for about 15 seconds, I was afraid from the unknowns. I didn't want to encounter a wired creature or end up going to that dark sun, so I woke up.

When waking up, I saw my room and a shadow of my two arms going up and down just like how a bird fly. Seconds later, everything became normal and shadows disappeared.

My questions:

What was this an OBE or a Liquid dream?

When you have an OBE, Do you wake up in the same room and start floating around, or can you wake up somewhere else?

When you experience an OBE and float to your neighbor's house, see the inside of it, if you end up going to that house in real life, will it look similar to what you saw?

Thanks in advance!  :-)

What was this? (OBE, Liquid dream, or what)

Sounds like you had an OBE after gaining lucidity. (That's lucid dream, btw.)

Quote from: wow on June 18, 2011, 12:52:53They say when you have OBE's, you see yourself in your room at first, then you float around anywhere you want, so does that mean I didn't have an OBE?

Traditionally OBE is the experience of leaving your body within the physical plane... around here you could call any conscious non-physical experience an OBE or astral projection without disagreement.

Quote from: wow on June 18, 2011, 12:52:53Let's say I had an OBE and I floated to my neighbor's house, even though I don't know how their house looks like. If I see what I see, and end up going to their house in real life, will the house be similar to what I saw in OBE?

It'll depend on your ability to control your mind free of expectation. It can also depend on the nature of the plane you're travelling on... some portray the real-life counterpart more accurately than others.

Thank you very much for answering the questions, I had to rewrite what I wrote above to make it more clear, so what you quoted has changed.

Boom

Wow, what you put about going to your neighbours house and then going there really to see if its the same, is of great interest.

The reason is, is that by simply obtaining information during an OBE / astral experience, which you previously was unaware of in the physical. And then confirming that information you have found, is what would for me prove that Astral Projection is more than just a sharp controlled dream.
Where it sounds great that people have experiences in a trance state, which are as real as a waking experience, telling us all these stories etc. This doesnt prove that anything is actually happening outside of the body, or outside of the physical dimension, or that there is an afterlife. It just proves that somehow they have managed to tap into something which is possible within the brain to bring them a damned clear concious dream with the clarity of being awake.

I tried OBEing through the wall to my neighbours house once and I saw nothing. I have never been there before and have no idea what it looks like...  Yet I could see my room pretty clearly. .Was my vision simply the memory of my room?

Im very open minded to Astral Projection and OBE. But until I can obtain previously unknown information, i'm not confirming to myself that I am projecting my conciousness away from my physical body.

my answer to your question about the neighbors house is Yes. with limitations. One morning I came home, hungover, and took a nap without running into anybody in my house. I instantly got feelings of pre-OBE and i separated from my body. I floated in my kitchen to see my mom, in her pajamas holding a coffee cup and a pen walking towards my room. As I watched her in my blurry environment she walked to my room and opened my door. Instantly I woke up to her wearing pajamas(different color) holding a coffee cup and a pen standing in my doorway. This absolutely thrilled me although it wasn't one of my first projections. the accuracy was incredible, because I set my goal to staying realistically in the physical.

"Liquid dream", I like the term, you should TM it ;-)

As for you question, I suggest at beginning to don't care what's what but just on having the experience. Confining yourself in intellectual boundaries just limits your attempts when you want to learn.

After, when you have a bit of personal experience to back-up an intellectual structure on the phenoma for yourself (and not in the word of others), then you can start researching on how to obtain a thing in confront to another and what are the differences and how to "work" with those.

In my experience in some practices as OBEs, what you think is what limits you more than anything else, and it does more "bad" than "good". Same it goes for what is is called "sleep paralysis", "vibrations" etc. and why many suggest to don't care about them at beginning.

That's one of the motives why some "methods" make you create a "vehicle", among others.

The more focused you are in the sensations of a "body" (and the more this "body" is "real"), the more lucidty and "control" on the experience you have. Naturally the practice has also some drawbacks, as for example limiting the consciouness, and at beginning it's either really tiring.

Still, depending on what you want to do (as always) it has many practical applications.

It all depends on the sort of projection that you are having - whether a Mode 1 or Mode 2 OOBE - check this link for the terminology I use:

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_out_of_body_experiences/how_to_have_an_out_of_body_experience_composed_by_summerlander-t34339.0.html

In both types, you can acquire information. In fact, both can overlap. Mode 2 can provide the gist with some 'mental' extras + other possibilities. 8-)

This is my very first OOBE. It seems to indicate that it is possible to see things exactly as they are, or the gist of things that have happened at the neighbour's. On the other hand, the sceptic might explain everything away using the subconscious card. What do you think? Have a read:

"Some time around 2008:

This is my very first full-blown OOBE where I could seemingly see the physical world as it is (Mode 1). When I first started experiencing the Phase, I was so excited that I completely neglected dating the first few journal entries. Hence why all I know is that this happened sometime around 2008. I had felt catapulted out of my body as I heard a noise like a stone knocking the inside of a bucket simultaneously. I watched the white ceiling approaching me very quickly, and, just as I thought I was going to crash into it, I halted right up against it. I never actually remained in one location. I moved constantly. Movement was gradual as though I shifted in frames of space. I looked back and saw everything in my bedroom. I was near the ceiling and a feeling of excitement appeared to have caused me to bounce all over the place at amazing speed without touching any objects. Then I wished to inspect the bodies that were on the bed closely.

One appeared to be Stacey, my wife, and, the other one was me, apparently asleep. I found myself next to it as if by teleportation. This teleportation sensation was like a time lapse where the viewpoint changed suddenly and inexplicably. It was very bizarre and initially I had felt like a 'floating head', but upon seeing what I took to be my physical body laying in bed, I started to look for my new body in that state. Suddenly a transparent version of my hands and arms could be seen. Inside my new limbs I could see moving patterns and could make out something like shadow veins and what looked like a fluid running through them. This was unlike that which is found illustrated in human anatomy books that I have seen.

I then flew out of my bedroom window and saw the landscape outside in the early hours of the morning. I was hovering 15ft above the ground, and, as I moved, I saw a little girl in the neighbouring window observing me. I flew towards her a bit confused because she seemed to be watching me. I asked her if she could see me as though telepathically or at least it's what that felt like, it didn't feel like speech. She shook her head in denial which contradicted the fact that she responded. She seemed terrified so I hovered away and back to my room. When I woke up I wondered if it to myself if I had just had an accurate lucid dream that closely emulated the physical realm to the point of fooling me, the observer. After all I knew my neighbours and had never seen that little girl before. Then, in the following days I noticed that my neighbour's daughters had friends around and they seemed to stay over.

On one particular day, my partner sent me to the chip shop. On the way there I went past our local Baptist church. I saw my neighbour talking to some people outside and then I saw her! She was real as she came running out of the church with other children. She never saw me as she was having fun running around the adults with her little friends. Either the Phase state allowed me to access actual information I wasn't privy to before, or, I did see the girl prior to this experience but the memory of it only registered subconsciously which was then unwittingly accessed by entering the Phase.

Oh, Thanks for the post and link Summerlander.

I remember reading your story/experience couple days ago on a different thread, it was very interesting. I also love your drawings.

I would like to visit the Summerland anytime soon, I just didn't get a chance yet.  :-D
