Just had the strangest OBE about an hour ago...

I just finished writing it all down...

13th O.B.E. --- 11/16/2011 @1145
I was tired and went deep while still awake.  Felt myself begin to rise from my body, felt the vibrations take over and I could hear myself breathing the entire time; like in 2001: A Space Odyssey when he was in his spacesuit.  It felt somewhat labored throughout this experience.  I began seeing many strange objects.  They seemed configured symmetrically somewhat, and very colorful --- I'm unable to explain in detail, other than they were very "cartoon-like"; similar to a phase I've seen in most of my other OBE's.  I went through many different types of scenery like this.  I then remember darkness with a ring of light surrounding.  I asked to see my spirit guide and instantly, my body seemed to vibrate intensely and breathing became very labored, but I remained calm (felt like I was dying).  Saw no one else, but now I'm in my bedroom, tried to walk through a wall --- could not (as I have in the past).  I could make out my hands in front of me, but very dim and blurry.  I could not fly either (as I have in the past).  Walked out into the living room, breathing is still labored.  My brother was sitting on the couch, I think he as on the phone (he doesn't live with me in reality).  I tried to speak to him, but could only whisper.  He could hear me though and he didn't seem surprised at all.  I picked up a pair of socks that were on the floor in the hall and floated them over to him thinking he would be impressed as to how I could do that.  He held them between his hands and began rubbing his hands together very fast and something white and furry began to appear out from the socks.  Next, I asked to see my spirit guide again, and again the vibrations in my body grew very intense and breathing became much labored.  There was a knock at the door.  My brother answered it.  There was a very tall, somewhat heavy-set, stocky older white man --- probably mid to late 50's, with white hair standing outside, he had a clipboard and a red shirt with a company name on the left side chest area.  It had something to do with psychiatry (I've never seen one, maybe I need to).  He asked my name.  I replied, "What's your name?"  He looked at me quizzically and then at my brother with a weird grin, as if to say, "what's his problem?"  Again, I could only whisper.  He showed me some papers that looked like test papers, there were several of them.  I looked through them and assumed he wanted me to see if my name was on any of them.  At first glance it wasn't, but then I did see my name on one of them, but it was very messy handwriting and didn't look like my writing at all.  Also it said, "Chris Nelson".  I always write my name, Christopher Nelson.  Next thing was a very bright light that took over the scene and then I was awake in my bed.  It seemed more like a dream;  I didn't feel that whooshing rush back to my body, like I usually do at the end of an OBE  Except my breathing was labored when I awoke, and it sounded/felt just like my breathing in "the dream" that I could hear the entire time. 
Very strange --- every time I asked to see my spirit guide the vibrations in my body grew stronger for an instant --- quite uncomfortable, and I felt like I was being choked --- not like hands around my neck, but it became much harder to breath.  I was surprised that I was able to remain calm.

This was all unlike any OBE's I've had before... seemed more like a dream, but not really.  Trying hard to make sense of it.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I've been thinking about this and researching it a bit online since this afternoon.  And I have a few notions as to what happened.  I'm thinking, perhaps it was a dream --- I was in Focus 2, if you will (I have alot of leanings toward Kepple's theories).  Maybe every time I was asking to see my spirit guide and those extreme sensations came on at that instant... well, maybe my spirit guide was trying to answer my call, but since I was in that "lower realm" it could be more difficult to accomplish.  I probably needed to elevate to a higher plane in order to communicate with my guide (which, I have yet to do).  I'm pretty sure I've gone further than Focus 2 in the past; I've had projections that definitely weren't dreams and there was another prescence there with me --- I could undoubtedly feel it, just couldn't see it.
I might be way off, or I might be on track.  Hell, I dunno'... just an idea, I reckon'.

In my experience no two OBEs/Aps are ever the same. Sometimes strange things just seem to happen for no apparent reason.
Also the difference between a dream and an OBE/AP can be Very blurry.
Also there is a chance of experiencing Dual Consciousness of being in both a dream And an OBE/AP at the same time. This has happened to me in several experiences that I later concluded where 'overlapping", meaning that the experience was part OBE and part dream.
In the end the difference between an OBE/AP and a dream can be as simple as being fully lucid and Deciding whether you want to be in an OBE/AP Or in a dream (= lucid dream). SO, lucidity and awareness are the Keys to understanding what is happening at the time.
