Title: Learning to Fly
Post by: Selski on May 24, 2006, 12:45:56
Hurray!  It's been two weeks since my last OBE and I had started becoming depressed...

I have had a lot on lately and know that when I'm busy, OBEs tend to take a back seat.  I find when I have time, space and lots of sleep, my OBEs are regular.  I guess I have more time to think about them.  I am prone to getting irritable and cranky when I haven't enough "me" time.

I went to bed last night exhausted and feeling a little frustrated.  However, luckily, I had two dreams about having OBEs (I still haven't quite worked out whether I'm dreaming about having an OBE or having an OBE in the middle of a dream - either way it doesn't really matter).

Today I thought I was working, but due to unforeseen circumstances I had the day off.

I went for one of those luxury afternoon naps - and here's what happened.

___________________________________________________________

I felt myself waking up slowly and relaxed.  I knew that in any moment I was going to be able to pull myself out.  My (astral) right leg was already in the air waving around! After a few moments, I knew I could separate.

I turned in my bed and bumped into a man who was sat at the top of my bed.    (In physical reality, I was on my own.)

He seemed friendly in a neutral sort of way.  I asked him if he wanted to go through the bedroom wall together.

We held hands and went towards the wall.  I had perfect sight (woohoo).  The wall was reluctant to let either of us through.  I looked at him and he was pushing his head.  The wall was "giving" so I pushed too.  We managed to get half our bodies through, then I said, "Are you sure you want to go through here?".  Then we stopped and faced each other.  We were both half in the bedroom and half on the other side, but my vision was in the bedroom only.  It was a ridiculous sight.  I lost it then.

But I was able to "lower" myself and got out again.  Now I couldn't see a thing.  All darkness.  However, I could see in some sort of sense, because I saw he was still there.

I said to him, "I know what I want to do!  I want to fly.  Will you teach me to fly?"

He never spoke to me (that I can recall) but he let me know to stand at one corner of the bedroom and he stood at the other one, diagonally opposite to me.

I then said to him, "This is what I can do" and levitated vertically up to the ceiling.  Very interestingly, I had an inkling of doubt that went through my mind as to whether I was going to be able to levitate, given that the wall was so hard to get through.  My doubt DIDN'T stop me levitating.  Curious.

My head gently touched the ceiling and I stopped.  I lost it again.

Third time.  Relax and out again.  He was still there.  I had sight.  We levitated up to the ceiling together, gently bumping our heads.  Then he conveyed that he wanted me to come to him, so I floated towards him.  He showed me a small window and asked me to "fly" out to the yellow car and then come back again.  I realised that the only way to get through the window was horizontally, so I floated out that way, got to the car and then lost it for the final time.
_____________________________________________________

It wasn't quite what I had in mind.  I wanted to fly, as in fly properly, zooming here, there and everywhere.  Floating around slowly is not really what I'd call flying.  I have problems with speed (in the astral) - it tends to abort my experiences.  So I was hoping he'd teach me how to do it.

The one thing I picked up from him was that when I showed him my levitation skills, he looked at me as if to say, "well what do you think flying is?" as if I was already doing it.

Not a great OBE (I didn't go very far), but one I thought I'd share.

hehe i like that one man, its got a nice friendly feel to it, that he was trying to teach you to fly and other things, i mean, ive only had one OBE but i heard that to fly you must just 'know' you can fly at whatever speed you want.

obviously with one OBE (that consisted of me floating and bumping around my room like a drunk fly) im not really too experienced, only going on what i heard.

i also think its strange that every time you projected he was still there, almost as if when you woke up again, he was just waiting for you to project again, hehe. thanks for sharing.

I've never flown in an OBE. Usually have a hard time moving at all, like my body is made out of lead, or I run around. I bounce off walls and doors instead of going through them, too.

Argh, it just makes me that more determined to get OoB so I can work on some fun skills like this ...

... it's another reason why I prefer traditional OBEs to Phasing ... it's the hard way (to move around), but I like it.

I have tried the "Man from Atlantis" swimming technique in an OBE.  That seemed to accelerate my floating until I reached a reasonable speed.

I still can't fly like Superman yet in OBEs - lucid dreams yes but not OBEs.

I think I'll try that swimming technique.  I've read about it before.  Others have said they felt really foolish spinning their arms about all over the place, but if it works...what the heck

I can fly like a breeze in lucid dreams.  OBEs - not a hope.  Yet.
