...because my heart was beating so fast - I didn't know what was happening.
I was floating above my body and so happy that I made it this time. There was a beautiful atmosphere in my room and I was joyful. Then my heart started beating fast, and increasing its speed. I had to go back into my body as I couldn't ignore it any longer.
Is this normal?

Maybe...was it still beting fast after the projection ended and you woke up? If so, you probbably either scared yourself or something ...i dunno
No it subsided when I got back into my body. This is the second time it's happened. The first time I was able to lift my head and upper body but my heart beat so fast I decided to go back in. Not sure what it means, but I don't want to give up. :-)
Hi Venus
Your ability to go out of body seems to be progressing. I've noticed that you have posted several accounts of either full or partial OBEs during the past 2 or 3 weeks.
If you keep at it and experience more OBEs in the coming weeks and months you Should notice that the quality of those future OBEs will be significantly better.
Clarity of vision, speed of motion, flight and the length of time out of body usually get much better after the first few OBEs. The more experience a person has then the more control the person commands when OOB and the longer each OBE normally lasts.
Stay focused and good luck with continued efforts.

Thank you Greytraveller. To be honest I was getting a little discouraged, but I'm glad you think that I'm progressing. I will keep on trying. My first two OBEs were through semi lucid dreams, and I had some help there! What I've never had is a conscious take off. I'm finding it quite hard and I think my helpers want me to do it by myself this time...
Thanks again for your encouraging words.
:-)
Are you sure it was your physical heart? It sounds like it could have been a heart chakra projection, especially intense if you were awake for the exit.
Wow, that's something I didn't think of! Yes I was awake at the time, though I started in a half asleep state. Really good insight, thanks CFtraveler.
