Dear folks,

I'm looking for reports (not speculations) on meditation in the astral realms (incl. etheric/real time zone and such), what's it like and what the differences are compared to doing it in the physical etc.

Thanks

From my experiences it's nearly impossible (for me at least) to meditate in the Astral. On the other hand the 4th density layer [RTZ] which is lined next to the Astral is much different. I am able to meditate here for about 30-60 minutes and then project to the 5th density / Astral and mental planes.

The Present Moment

I was never able to do it in lucid dreams. Meditating on my breath would send me to the physical, and when I tried to meditate on astral objects the environment would go haywire and I couldn't concentrate.

You mean the Etheric.
In which case, if you walk through a mirror or some other kind of reflective surface... you'll generally find yourself in the Astral.

I've never tried meditating in the astral/etheric realm. I like to go exploring as soon as I'm out. I find the nearest mirror or window, go through it and I'm off!

But, I can say that when I try focusing on the moment while astral traveling, i.e. to teleport, I find it exceptionally difficult. Not sure why!  :| Just hard to concentrate my mind there.

A lot of people have trouble with it apparently.
If your goal is another place on Earth, try using Google maps to become familiar with the area you're trying to get to from up above.
Then when you're projecting, fly up high and circle around until you find it.

The key to staying in the astral (in my experience) is becoming totally immersed in the environment. When you withdraw your attention from your surroundings it can quickly bring you back to the physical. I think meditation while projecting would be difficult for that reason.

Dear folks,

your words remind me that there is a very real reason behind why the astral body has been called "desire body".

Robert Bruce was talking about voids situated on the outskirts of the astral, I guess the experienced projector could go there and meditate or simply by creating one's own domain.

The reason I asked is because I wonder how one in the astral would - in regards to all the distractions and temptations you could find there, how one would find a way to remain in focus over time (astral time) and not lose himself. In the physical it is clear that we can do this by meditating regularily but comparing it to the internet which is of course but a pale example to the distractions we find on the astral, one is always tempted by most websites to go from one video to the next or from one news story to the next etc. ultimately causing one to lose oneself in a sea of information especially since at large it is constructed in such a way as to speak to the lower desires of sensory entertainment.
For those of you who have read Monroe, the example of AA can be applied here aswell.

I know two people who I have learned a lot from that meditate in the astral. One of them loves japa and he said he likes to do it there, while his body is sleeping at night. They do other techniques as well. Most energetic practices and meditations have nothing to do with the physical body, and so if one is advanced enough in astral projecting and meditation then there is no reason not to be able to. Also, there are temples in the astral that teach higher meditations and teachings I hear.
