For the last couple months, whenever I have sleep paraysis and leave my body, I'm always greeted or end up finding this same entity. He always wears a trench coat and a top hat, has gray pale skin and a small bit of gray hair. A very pointy nose and pointy ears, and is very skinny. I always took it as some kind of demon. When I first met him I approached him first, but he seemed indifferent about my presence. He just stood looking off into the distance like he usually does. He started talking to me more and more but I can never remember what we talk about. One time he even hugged me for being a good sport about losing some contest. He seems to show me some level of respect but has gotten angry at me also. I am open minded to it just being a dream but it is very interesting and a little worrying.
Don't worry about anything, he's not a threat at all. He may be a sore loser when unsuccessful though lol.
Ask him for a way to increase your recall and to also show you what you need to know.
Always be polite and accepting, you get results this way. If no response is given ask him clearly "what is your intent?"
The outcome should be beneficial to your learning. He has the attributes of a guide so should be a great help.

Of late I've noticed a man who waits in the hall by my bedroom. I'm ashamed to say when I first noticed him fear must have kicked in at the sight of an unknown entity in my house and i shouted. He ran into the toilet to hide from me. I then acknowledged my overreaction and realised he was more scared of me.
The following few times I saw him he was terrified of me and I have been slowly trying to show him I just want to help him. It's slow going. I have his name but he is reticent to give much else up. My intuition tell me he needs retrieving but this isn't a grab and drop in 27 run but rather something that requires a more thoughtful approach.
Parts of my house are over five hundred years old so there's a good chance he was a former resident. A while back I was lying in bed aware of a Victorian maid standing over me saying I needed more blankets as it was cold and nurturing me so there is definitely some history still present in the property.
I love it when entities are truly caring for your well-being. :)
First house I moved into with some college mates, we had a friendly young lady of a ghost from the 19th century watching over and protecting the house. Coolest place I ever lived just by the ambience she provided.
I'll have to write up that story sometime...

At TMI there is one room which has an entity residing in it. Seems to like some people more than others. I spent 2 weeks in the room on my own but didn't realize at the time. Woke up in the night and something was next to me in bed with its arm over me (like it was spooning me). Turns out it quite liked me (evidently) but it has been reputed to punch some people during exercises.
