Hello,

I had a strange experience some time ago, and I can't seem to get any real information, and what information I can get is guess work.  I've spoken to a few people who seem to be in the know, but I figured a larger pool of experience couldn't hurt.  In this experience, I believe that I had projected, but it was wrong. I'll just tell my story, and any and all feedback will be much appreciated.

I was asleep, and had woken up, or at least I thought I had. When I opened my eyes the first thing I noticed is that I couldn't move.  Except for my eyes.  The room was situated in such a way in which I had a window above my head and to the left, and the door was directly at the foot of my bed.  As I couldn't move I looked around to the best of my ability. The first place my eyes fell was the window.  I could see the street light shining through, as I could any other night, but it looked different.  The best way I've been able to describe it so that anyone knows what I'm talking about is like this, and I apologize in advance for the lack of a better description.  Remember in the Lord of the Rings movie when Frodo put the ring on? That. It's almost like the light was fluttering in the wind. As I scanned the rest of the room, I noticed that it wasn't just the light.  Everything that I could see in what little light I had, seemed to move like a flag in a strong breeze.  My eyes fell to the door at the foot of my bed and I saw it.

Standing at the door was a figure. Humanoid in form, but with some striking differences.  It  looked like a 3d shadow. The limbs were elongated, the fingers seemed to taper into points. I didn't see any eyes. I couldn't tell how tall it was, because it was hunched over.  I don't know if it knew I was there the whole time, or if had only become aware of my presence when I looked at it.  It was fast. I don't remember blinking. I just know that it was over me with it's hands outstretched (this is how I know what it's fingers look like).

The next thing I know I'm sitting straight up and screaming.  As I calm down I notice that the room looks as it should, and I can obviously move. Then my roommate bursts into my room. He heard me scream and was concerned.  He came into my room, and ran to the side of my bed, and grabbed my shoulders. In exactly the same manner as the creature I had just seen, or thought I saw. Needless to say this sent me into a panic.  I calmed down and eventually fell back asleep.

That's it.  I have almost no idea about what happened. Any input would be much appreciated.  I'll answer any questions if it helps. Thanks in advance.
