Mister Astral

I've had two more projections since my last post here. They both seemed significant and very bizzare.

I'll make a seperate post about the first of the two later; there's A LOT of details on that one.

Anyway, I've noticed from my last two projections that I have no reflection in the astral plane.

In fact, this morning's projection was particularly interesting. When I went into my astral body, I did the roll out method and rather than trying to stand on the floor, I instead let myself fall through for some strange reason. At first, I thought about "floating" or flying upward, but ultimately decided against it and just kinda' let myself fall.

Then,
I was back in my bed. :?

At first I thought I had gone back to my "normal body" but my whole body felt numb and when I looked up, I was looking at a reflection of my room above me. I could see everything in my room from an upside-down point-of-view except for one thing... I couldn't see myself lying down in my bed. The bed was empty in the reflection. :-o

Now, this wasn't the first time I've seen (or rather, not seen) my reflection in the astral, as I've tried looking at myself to see my astral body in a mirror once before.

What this could this mean?

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I'll take a stab at it:

It's only strange because it's not meeting your expectations. You got a chance to see that your body is not "you" or your "I". It's just a vehicle for your "I". In the physical it's easy to believe that your body is you, because it's all you know, and now your getting to know yourself outside of the physical.

The first time I had a conscious OBE, I surprisingly found myself floating near my ceiling and and started swinging my arms and legs around like an idiot trying to grab onto something. The only reason I did that is I was instinctively relating my experience to being in the physical. But beyond the physical, there are whole new methods of interacting and perceiving to get used to. You have to drop physical-like expectations.

Thanks for the insight, Stookie. :-D

But I always hear everyone talk about seeing their astral bodies and yet I seem to have none. :|

In one of Monroe's books (or maybe Buhlman) he explains how over time, if he wasn't paying attention to himself, he would realize he'd kind of turned into a "blob", then his expectations morphed him back into a physical like self. I've experienced myself as a minute pinprick of consciousness, sans body. It's more liberating than you would think.

Mister Astral

Hmmm, aiight, I'll utilize this next time.

Thanks again.

hmmm... interesting Stookie~ and i definitely agree with u on that our body is not us-- we are Consciousness ~

Yeah, that is interesting. There have been times when I haven't seen my Physical Body but I think I have always been able to see my Astral Body (if I remember a time when I didn't see my Astral Body, I'll update this post). Most of the time my body looks the same as in the Physical (when I look down and when I look in a mirror). My body has been transparent before as well and...I remember once when I was moving/looking around, I felt like I had no body and I was just a ball floating or something. You don't really need a body (?) but it probably makes it easier to interact with the environment and others.

jsoul: Good luck on having your first AP!

Interestingly, in my first, and so far only projection, I was standing in the bathroom in my barracks quarters.  I looked in the mirror and COULD see myself.  In fact, I willed myself to grow hair on my head.

And I DID.
