Curious if I've Had an Astral Projection -- first time

Hello All! I'm new to this forum so I hope I do not break any rules of etiquette by my post.

I've been having lucid dreams unintentionally for the past decade, and this summer I got very interested in and decided to learn up on astral projection. I've been reading "How to Have an Out of Body Experience" by William Buhlman, which I've found extremely helpful, and have been practicing the techniques outlined in his book. I practiced for a couple months, but was not having much progress.

Then the other day, I was lying down for an afternoon nap, and felt myself going into this vibrational phase I get into when I'm about to have a lucid dream. I get a very strong ringing/vibration in my head (especially toward the back of my jaw), that sometimes becomes painful because it's so strong. This time when I felt it, I got excited because I thought it'd be the perfect time to attempt astral projection again. So, as the vibration was still going on, I tried to pull my "spirit" straight up (as though I were sitting up) but felt tethered to my body as if held down by magnets. After a few more attempts I decided to try and spin myself out (turning like the hand on a clock) and this seemed to work.

Suddenly I was at the foot of my bed, and I was truly shocked at the change in perspective. As long as I've been lucid dreaming I've never been able to change my perspective to look at myself. The room had an eerie quiet, and an almost dimly-lit quality to it, though some items seemed to glow slightly. It felt like I was a ghost or something. Immediately, I had the idea to go over to my body and lift up the cover to inspect myself--I thought if I could view my body it would "prove" to me that I was having an astral projection and not just another lucid dream. All I could see was a shape covered by a blanket, because I had fallen asleep with the blanket covering me completely. But the moment I decided this and went towards my body to inspect I was instantly back "in" my body and awake again.

So my question, to all of you venerated travelers, does this sound like it could have been an astral projection, or more like I was just dreaming that I was doing it? I really thought I'd done it, but then when I went online to read about other people's experiences I wasn't sure that what I'd done was the same. The whole period of time I was "out of my body" (if I even was) was a few seconds at most. Any help or advice on the subject would be immensely appreciated and helpful!

Thanks so much and happy travels to all! xoxo
