Confused...

I'm a little confused at this point, and upon looking up what happened on the net, I was brought here.

About a week ago I decided to take a nap along with my daughter and husband. I put the baby in her crib and put Dora on the TV. As I lay there falling asleep I got that feeling you feel when your foot is asleep, but it was not just a foot, it was my entire body. I didn't know what the deal was so I opened my eyes and tried to sit up but felt extremely heavy. By this time I was scared, but was finally able to sit up. I kind of sat there for a moment and looked at my daughter who had still not fallen asleep she was standing up in her crib still watching Dora, I also watched it for a few moments. I turned to look at my husband, who was snoring at this point. I decided to get up to use the restroom, turned to put my feet on the floor next to the bed, but as I turned to the right to get off the bed I saw myself sound asleep. I was absolutely baffled as to what was going on. I decided I was dreaming, I know what night terrors are, but it was different. I wasn't pinned down, I didn't hear any strange noises, and didn't feel like I was being watched all of which I had known (or thought I had known) are consistent with night terrors.
Completely confused I axed the bathroom idea and laid back down, but it was hard... really hard. The only example I can give is when you try to put two magnets of the same pole together and you feel the invisible marshmallow, that was what I felt. It was like I couldn't get back in to my own body. I finally did, but when I did I suddenly "saw" what looked like grey embossed pictures of family and I, some who have passed away, and others who haven't. Then right before the end, I saw a little boy, about 10 running up to me. Then I was done. I "woke" up. I again sat up, this time with much less resistance, my daughter was still standing there, Dora was where it should have been from when I had watched it a few moments before. Basically, I saw everything that was going on, but I wasn't awake to see it... does that make sense?

Ever since I have not been able to sleep soundly at all, ranging from 2-4 hours a night if I'm lucky. I just toss and turn. I am exhausted and I am unable to help myself. Doing a little more research I found something about vibrations? Before this happened every night before bed I would feel slight shaking in my bed. I would tell my husband but he could never feel it. It went on for a good 6 months and I would feel this throughout my entire body. I even asked the neighbor if she felt anything (our bedrooms are very close across the yard and I thought it could perhaps be from something going on outside at night). The vibrations are now gone too.

I'm not sure what I am asking here, but I suppose the only question I can think of is did I experience astral projection or an out of body experience? What are the vibrations exactly? People talk about them, and some I have found are actually trying to make them happen, but why? I am so confused, and would really like some help here.

Firstly, everything you said above is something I've heard many times over several decades. It's perfectly safe in every aspect and the deal with this is you are scaring yourself.
It's easy to say that as it can be really scarey. I'll post a link for you to read, it's a masterpiece and should put your mind at rest.
The lack of sleep isn't going to make anything better either. What you need to do is simply not be scared at all and accept it as your mind is awake before your body.
If you wish to travel around this world and many others you already have a massive head start.
Perhaps later this can be addressed.
Have a read of this.

Thank you. It was indeed a wonderful read and definitely gave me some food for thought.

I would like to learn more about all of this, you say I have a massive head start, how? And how can I use this?

This numbness where you can't move is a condition where your body is asleep and your mind is still awake.
Normally this is the other way around and most of us have to do some work to flip it the way you already are privvy to.
The noises that can be heard when you're pinned down as if a lead blanket covered you are hypnagogic ( going to sleep) or hypnapompic ( waking up) noises.
These are perfectly natural and can be controlled to a degree eventually.
If you find yourself in this position, STAY RELAXED, it's more an honour than evil to witness. Should the noises be present too, listen carefully to the zings and you'll find a creak from a floor or the boiler switching on caused the noise.
The rumbles or trains often heard are internally generated. These I've learned to control at will and you can make beutiful music when the conditions are perfect.
So you know there's nothing to fear I've been listening to these for around 50 years.
Yep, harmlessly. At first they did scare me when visualisations occured simultaneously. Within the last year I woke up, or thought I did to hear many tons of rocks falling through the ceiling. The sound was incredibly real and not expected. One simple thought of 'oh yeah, you're not real' totally stopped them dead. You had some visualisations too the relief pictures of family, this is typical. Train yourself to laugh them off with the knowledge of what they are.
You can then sleep soundly without any worries.
I had around 3 years of nightmares before I challenged them. Now nothing scares me. These include all the lights and monsters you'd expect to see before and after sleep. I was very young at that time.
To make use of your predicament and change it into something out of this world , you need to address the fears you have.
This is the biggest step to take and the most difficult.
Im hoping you are beginning to understand it's all safe and natural, try to fix this in your mind first and the rest will be quite easy.
While in the sleep paralysis (SP) state any thoughts you have will become real as you percieve them. This takes a bit of getting used to but can solve the fear issue if you only realise your thoughts can manifest anything. If you wanted some sunshine to light up wherever you are simply think the sun will come out and scare anything away that you're not happy with. This works even if you are ten miles underground. Believe it will work and it will. Don't be surprised if the scene you are in changes too. Facing your fears this way tends to put you in a different scene thats rather pleasant.
There's many experiences posted on site, have a read of some and if you would like to learn the art then the next stage can begin.

hi curiouser and what a good read that was, I'd be really excited having experienced that. I'll expand on my interpretation of the above. I and many others spend years trying to achieve what you seem to find easy especially with all the differing techniques out there, it's kind of fallen in your lap.

It stilliisn't easy me when I try and project for it to happen with complete success so for you to be where you are big congratulations.

How can u use this? Well think of it as absolutely any thing you've ever thought about no matter how mad wild etc you can have in this state, it's literally your imagination the limit.

Read up using this site.

Happy travels out there.

:-D :-D :-)

Perception is everything, because you think you see it, does it mean its true?

I am new to this forum too and have been dealing with the same issues for about 6 months. I started getting the vibrations in the middle of the night and had to research all this to figure out what the heck was going on.
I've found that if you sleep on your stomach it will really reduce the chance of this happening (at least it works for me).

At this point I'm very curious but even more cautious.  I think I've had less than 10 "experiences" and most of them I just follow through with the vibrations and I'll get random sometimes weird visions (2-3). I haven't yet chosen to "get out" but one time I think I was out but was just laying in my bed and my dog from my childhood came to me as I was laying there and let me pet him.

I'm still a little freaked out by all the possibilities...  Taking baby steps. I do question my sanity at times but I know I've still got it all together!

Hey Szaxx,

Just curious about one thing she said that I have heard from a few people before. What would cause someone not to be able to get back in their body or be repelled by it? It is quite the opposite it seems, of the norm of thinking of your body and being sucked back in or getting too close and having the same happen... I know magnets work both ways just curious what would cause this cause I heard from someone else that he has spontaneous projections and doesnt want to, cant get back into his body no matter how hard he tries, but then eventually it just happens.

Aside from the cause of it, what would someone do to combat it?

Szaxx

A-T, I've never had an RTZ lock-out so can't really give any info. I've had many a clairvoyant lock-in and these are far worse but not related here.
Kalana, have a read of the link above. It's a start, you've arrived on this site and hopefully we can find something to ease your mind. The vibrations are very common and a precursor to an attempt to exit. You have experienced some things already and are still wary of the fear aspect. Thoughts can manifest in many ways, being wary of some fearful situation may create the situation by your very thoughts. This is the fear runaway condition, one leads to another a little worse that leads to another...
You only scare yourself, the problem is we are all very good at doing that. A strong mind is required to say "NO" to fear and take total control of the whole experience.
Curiouser, take a look and see what you think.
