My ('second') lucid dream this week...

I say 'second' but I've had a few lucid dreams in the past though by accident. This is the second one that I've tried to induce intentionally. Anyways just another brief account...

I was at a sort of live concert called 'OBE' (hmm go figure) and while I was there I was 'reading' an OBE manual. And then suddenly I thought 'I know this seems real but what if I'm dreaming?' So I immediately lifted up my hands and counted my fingers. Much to my surpirse I had 6 fingers in one hand and 8 fingers on the other! The fingers took on a very distorted, bent form and I think the number of fingers would change at each glance. Anyways so I quickly realized I was dreaming and suddenly ended up at home upstairs in one of the rooms unintentionally...well perhaps it was subconsciously intentional (??). I recounted my distorted fingers and this time tried to run through a wall seeing as I was unsuccessful last time. To my amazement it actually worked, though it was quite a strange feeling though. Standing at the top of the stairs I then tried to teleport all the way to the bottom but it didn't work so I resorted to jumping down. Again I recounted my fingers to confirm my LD and said out loud to myself 'I am dreaming and I will remember this dream!'. I then accidentally lost focus somehow and woke up.

I really need to try and LD for more than 5 minutes, they keep ending too soon lol!

P.S. This LD was induced using the WBTB method - it's so handy and reliable. This is for anyone who's bored of practicing AP consciously and always failing and who wants to try something different :D

Gbob,
others may disagree and are welcome to comment, but I think you are making the transition to an AP...in each of the last two seperate posts you made. Don't discount the fact of it simply because the experience originated from a Lucid Dream. Yes, it does alter the quality and the perspective slightly, but nonetheless, I think you're finishing with a true OBE/AP; in both instances.

Notice that, this time you made it a bit further, you passed through a physical obstacle; whereas the first time you couldn't. It can be impossibly small steps early on; but progress notwithstanding.

Extending your focus and extending the experience will come naturally, with continued practice. EV
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

I found the realisation and excitement of realising I am dreaming usually wake me up quick. I do often also find myself lying in bed in the dark and I automatically know i am dreaming, sometimes this happens three or four times in a row and I get quite annoyed wishing I would just wake up!

So during/after I do my reality checks I try to think calmly and not move for a short while.

I have also tried running through walls when I know i am dreaming tis an odd experiance, i would likening to imagining what running though a waterfall of honey might be like

How odd! Often in dreams I also, instead of running down stairs, i jump from the top and all the way down and land at the very bottom!

I am not sure I have had an actually OBE from dreams though I have had some very near/if not actual ones. Hm i might make a separate post about this would love you ideas Gbob!

Yesterday morning I had yet another lucid dream lol! This time it went on for quite a long time and I managed to stay focused! But now I've completely forgotten what happened as I didn't write it down :(

I tried this morning but nothing happened...I could barely remember a single dream.

I like having LD's :D

I loved LD to.

I keep a small note book and pen by my bed and if anything real interesting happens i take notes. After awhile i transfer them to a journal.

I find it easier to LD after I have woken up. If I am aware enough before i can feel my body I dont move and dont think and I can usualy go back into the dream, though be aware or I sculpt the dream by visualisation while I lay there and it becomes the dream.

I love my lucid dreams. I've had them for over 10 years now. I've had some really
good one's lately. It doesn't take much to trigger them now.

I also find that I have them after waking in the morning and going back to sleep.

The last one I  had I saw an orange diamond in front of me and that turned into
an orange rug. Being lucid I decided to surf on it and it worked.
So, I was sky surfing on an orange rug. It was so great! I always fly in my LD's.
Sometimes I just float. Last time I was rising and spinning at the same time.
I was doing this with my will. I was concentrating on how every spin was so real.
I was concentrating on every feeling that was going on and enjoying it SO much!

I tried to turn my LD into an OBE, with no luck.
I saw a bed but it wasn't mine and I wasn't in it.

I'm not satisfied with just LD's, but they'll do for now.

I know what you mean sublime.

LD are great but I want to go further. I have in the past tried to AP from dreams but I havent had much luck. Once i realised i was dreaming and sat down relaxed and imagined float up out of my body (in the dream). I hear a rushing and saw a tunnel made of smoke against blackness then woke up. Thats the closest I have been, unless ofc it was just all apart of my LD :)

For me it works like this.   Everytime I relize I'm dreaming, 1 of 2 things happen.   Sometimes I simply relize I'm dreaming,   try my best to stay in, and going oob never crosses my mind.  But most of the time, as soon as I relize I'm dreaming (most of the time its because I'm dreaming of Florida. And I live in Nebraska now ) I start to sort of spin out of control.  And out  of the dream all together. I find myself laying on the floor under the bed unable to move, mostly observing stuff.    Untill I wake up.  Or haun contro and stand up a min till I get scared and pop back in my body.
