My Spirit Guide is a Woman Now (was a man before...)

In the past my spirit guide was a man, but in a couple instances this week I have heard a woman's voice over my astral travels, and this morning it was confirmed that she is my spirit guide.  I was very happy to meet her, and I do love her very much and am so appreciative... I remember asking her: "I thought you were a man!" and she replied "Does it matter?" and she showed me all of these beautiful shapes and colours and kaleidoscope imagery. It was wonderful. She warned me about projecting again when I returned from my first OBE this morning for some reason, but I ignored her and my second OBE was terminated by her voice pretty quickly, after I walked out my front door.

Previously, about 3 years ago (before my mental illnesses prevented my spiritual progress), I had my first ever OBE when a man in my dream yanked me out of my body, and I found myself conscious floating above my body. Also, when I meditated back then, I often felt as though I was being merged with a man, I would have his thoughts... and he taught me to exit out of my third eye for projection by merging his perspective with mine. I always figured he was my spirit guide. Then suddenly he disappeared. I often tried to call him many times during my darkest hours in the past couple of years but I didn't receive any response.

In an instance this past summer, I was actually visited by my boyfriend's spirit guide who showed me different planets and galaxies in the universe. Still... I wondered where mine had gone...

This incident today has been my first direct contact with my spirit guide in years, and I'm a bit perplexed to know that it isn't the same one.

I'm still reveling in this experience as it was wonderful and I feel so comforted to know that I haven't been forsaken, and there is still someone looking out for me, even if its someone different. I love her very much and I'm so thankful.

Has anyone heard of spirit guides changing? Or could it be the same one, in a different form? I'm very confused...

Maybe your old guide was reassigned, or perhaps she is able to take the form of both male and female.

Well from my experience, how you see them is determined by how you perceive their energy. Your perspective on things may have changed since you last say your spirit guide and that may have causeed you to see him/her differently. In spirit you have no gender. When you feel her presence (using the word her her to simplicity's sake) does it feel the same as it did with your spirit guide before?

It is as Inkheart said. The way that you perceive your spirit guide may be based on the fact that your perception have changed over the years. The last time i had an encounter with my spirit guide strangely it was my dog that had died when i was still small. Who would have though that even animals have a purpose in our lifes

It does feel very similar. I knew at once that she was my spirit guide, never doubted that for a moment despite the fact that it had been male previously.

I think it may have been because I once had major issues with my femininity and I'm only now coming to embrace my own unique sense of womanhood (as awkward and corny as that sounds ).

Maybe you have more then one guide...
Maybe they are both speaking to you and you are finally 'hearing them both'.

You can call anyone a guide. This new lady seems to be stopping you from projecting, which sounds like something a predator would do

That is true, I have had some weird entities claiming to be my guide which were really only trying to trick me. I may be a unique case but my subconscious / higher self is my guide. He explained to me how he is from the future and sent a 'version' of himself back to this time to guide and protect me. Kind of like the movie Terminator  . I guess I did this because the 'future me' knows I don't trust anyone except myself.

Now I am able to communicate with him everyday and he helps me out quite a bit. In a case where there was another entity claiming to be my 'spiritual guide' my subconscious kicked in and said to me, 'blast this idiot with light energy and see what happens'. I then raised my energy into my heart center and shot it out of my hand and the entity screamed and disappeared and never came back.

I don't think she could be a predator... Wouldn't I have sensed negative energy if such was the case? This is the second time she's appeared and both times I felt secure and safe with her. Maybe she didn't want me in the astral realm that day for reasons I don't know right now, but it could have been for my protection. I have been trying to contact my other guide for awhile, and he hasn't been responding. I'm thinking some sort of switch or even transformation might have happened.

I highly doubt she's a neg, she seemed very compassionate.

Doesn't seem that way to me - if she's blocking you from projecting. If when you say 'negative energy' you mean 'a bad feeling' - a predator can give you whatever feeling they want.

People generally have many guides.
This could just be another one.

However, you should also be careful... a guide shouldn't "terminate" a projection like that.
They're "GUIDES"... not "DO WHAT I TELL YOUS".  LoL
They gently nudge you through life, not shove.
