I woke up with the knowledge that my astral body was lose,so I rolled out with no feeling of vibrations that I would normally have. The room was dark and I walked through the bedroom door down the stairs and through the downstairs wall. I found some resistance going through the wall but managed it.

Found myself in a very familiar environment that I recognised from earlier travels.

There were distractions around me but I wanted to focus on changing my environment. I thought of when I was in the Maldives so thought of that destination.

I said to myself when I close my eyes I'll open them and I'll be in the Maldives, so I tried. I tried with real intent and desire but found myself in the black void.

It was very dark, so I waved my arm around and could smudge the darkness almost like an etch a sketch on a new scenery. But soon after my experience ended.

Question: how can I have even more intent and desire to change things in the astral and still not get results?

Thanks

Intent != Desire

If that was the case, you'd be flipping through the non-physical uncontrollable... and let's face it, most guys would be having a sex-filled marathon each and ever night.  ;)

Let me explain...

Look at your hand.  Now desire it to move.  Think about making it move.  Visualize it move.
You're just sitting there staring at your non-moving hand.  Right?  You can think about it all you want, but thinking will NEVER make anything happen.

Now... MOVE your hand.  Notice that there's no desire.  There's no wanting.  There's no visualizing it moving.
You just MOVE it.  That thing that happens a split second BEFORE your hand actually moves is "Intent".

Intent is essentially the energy behind the WHY you do anything.
"Intent", in a non-physical setting, is to be able to "do something" without actually doing it.

blidge

Um ok sounds great to do just that,  but I'll have to just do it without over thinking it. Some how.  I will have what you said in mind at my next venture so thanks.

Thanks

I understand completely.
You can't really "teach" to someone how to place Intent.
It's kind of like learning to ride a bike... you can have someone guide you through the process, but ultimately, you have to learn from your own mistakes.  :)

Szaxx

You have to have faith in yourself and what you can achieve will happen.
It's a do it thing not an I'll try this.
You should expect things to happen and this strong desire you have needs a lot of 'knowing it will be'.
Doubts in your attempts will manifest and a fail results from this.
Shout and scream if it fails, picture yourself in the scene you want and keep going at it until you get what you desire.
Eventually you'll get some feeling feedback and learn from it. Telekinesis is so simple once you get familiar with this feeling of how it works. Thoughts manifest so change your thinking to nothing will do, only your desires.
If some punk stole your wallet, you wouldn't try to get it back. You'd do whatever it takes. It's this kind of drive you need to get things moving.
Be strong minded and settle for nothing less than what you want. Use this within the limits of the environment. Don't fly around breaking things if no one else is doing it for example, you'll know what the limits are by being there.
You're going to win, you're not going to try.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

It's the belief behind the thought and the desire, that produces results. I have had instances where I have yelled "light" but there was darkness. I yelled and yelled, I focused, but nothing. Then I stopped, and thought to myself "I have the absolute power to do this". I strong sense of belief spread throughout my spirit and the next moment everything around me was lit.

I think most people think intent is the force behind the desires. How much do you want something. But you can apply wanting all you want, if you don't believe you can achieve it, little results will be produced.

If you believe naturally that you have the ultimate power to achieve anything, then during APs you will not encounter many situations where you have to struggle to do something you want. You dont even have to think about believing, because it is already imprinted in you. That's why it is very important to believe that nothing is impossible in every aspect of your life. Even if it seems impossible by logic. Just keep the doors of possibilities open and never limit yourself.

For me it's always been the opposite, when I astral travel I never let any of my desires screw my experience, I always let my intuition lead me where I should be going...
The other day I was in a lucid dream then I just started focusing slowly up to the point where I could see everything clearly.
Someone gave me a gps and I saw a road that I had to go to in France, rue des Boues... and I remembered it when I woke up and watched it on google maps and it actually exist, weird enough I was interested in France and never watched a map of it. Yet it was there...

Sometimes your intuition can provide an experience far more interesting than your desires because it feels like you're being carried.

would you say then that this intent is the same as say walking?as I find doing that natural and effortless.

I have been in situations that I've had to shout and have had much success. Intent to fly has worked so I can fly say 12 feet off the ground but using that same intent to fly like superman wouldn't work. Guess your saying have only my desire in my mind and focus %100 on that.

"Walking" is the result of you placing your Intent.
There is Intent behind your walking.

Does that help?

Kzaal

If you've been flying in some of your projections then you are on the right track, after a few times it will come naturally and not long after that you'll be able to go where ever you please, at least that happened for me...
I never accorded too much importance to those things, it just developed normally like when you ride a bike... at first it's a little hard then eventually you no longer need help, and after a while you're doing wheelies lol.

You have all the time in the world to practice it, don't worry too much about failing and eventually you'll be there and won't even remember how you learned it in the first place...

Hey, I actually have that problem, but in LDs. It's always night in my LDs and I want for it to be sunny, but I can't change it. I'm never able to go to that light side. I do not understand because for example I can fly easily or move through walls, but the moment I look around myself darkness starts closing in on me. I just can't change the "theme" of my experiences. I stop what I'm doing, I focus the best I can as well as I keep in mind it's my sub-conciousness (which is me creating what I see) and I desire for sun to come out, but it never does. It's always so dark no matter how I feel or do, night is all I get. Why?

IsayWhaat, don't despair there is plenty to be explored even in the dark!

It sounds to me like you are finding yourself in the dark because there is something there that you need to experience or explore there.

My guess is that once you find out your own personal reason why, that you will finally be opened up and able to see the "light".

Personal challenges and quests are abound in the "other realms". To me it's just another extension of this reality. We are constantly challenged here as well. It's just that some of the other realms don't follow our physical rule sets. So that gives us more tools for exploration at our disposal there.

How am I supposed to explore something in pitch black? It's night and you can see shapes of buildings and things, but thats only around me for let's say roughly 30 meters. Beside that it's pitch black. No shapes, nothing. Literally nothing. Pure blackness, just colour black. And as I notice it and give it attention it starts closing in. I tried controlling it, stopping it, but so far fails only. After I completely lose sight I either lose my lucidity completely (because of false awakening, it always follows after LDs, always) or I'm laying in my room on my bed still in dream state. Specifically, yesterday I started floating above my bed, had no sight - I felt my eyes being closed. I was going up, but then I would fall down. Then again, I would go up, but fall. Up down, up down, it lasted for good 40-50 seconds before I got annoyed and woke up on purpose.

But, I like the idea of exploring, so far I only stood in one place, completely still as I tried to focus and change night to day. Also, I'm not sure how to explore. My house is on intersection, there are 3 possible streets to take. Not to mention, I can go in any other direction beside the streets. Do you recommend I should go towards the street that is completely dark or maybe I should search one that I can see shapes in? And, should I go for ones I feel familiar with, or the ones that look nothing like in physical reality? I know you can't tell me what to search for, I have to figure that on my own, but I could use some tips.

I think you are finding yourself in what is known as the 3D darkness or the void. This is a zone between our physical realm and the others. It's kind of like a neutral zone, but you can still question and learn in there. I have spent many attempts just contemplating things in there.

If I read this correctly your goal is to exit your body and become familiar with your physical surroundings, like walking around your neighborhood for instance There are far more exciting places to explore. I don't necessarily attempt to physically leave my body. But I understand that many people that are new to this practice do, hence the term OBE (Out of body Experience). I just create the right circumstances, then I find myself in or transition to another realm. I don't necessarily create a intended destination any more, like a specific one. I just ask to see what I need to see and go where I need to go, then I await what happens next. That is still an intent. It's just it's not necessarily a "targeted" one.

This sticky here has some great daily practice techniques to get you used to the feeling of being "separated" from your physical body. Although the feeling is brief, it still is very helpful with getting the understanding of something "outside" of your physical perception. In other words it's a great way to "loosen" yourself. With this technique you can indeed practice walking around your neighborhood. You could also use a sports activity or even something easy like a virtual car drive. Have fun with it.

I agree with Lumaza that this "pitch black" area you keep finding yourself in is the 3D Darkness or the Void, to give it it's most common names. This is an area of consciousness that allows you to express your Intent and travel practically anywhere.

In my own experience and that I have read of others, this is a good sign of your progress in figuring out "where" in "your consciousness" you are. It is a progression in your experience and also a test of sorts.

By contrast, you are still being shown RTZ exits, in order to help you begin understanding the differences and limitations between these two states. ( I hope I'm not giving too much away here; this is some fundamental understanding that you need to work out for yourself, hence the experiences keep repeating).

As has been pointed out to me numerous times in my earlier experiences, you are still thinking too much from a Physical Reality perspective as to what possibilities these two "states" can offer you in your explorations. Lol, this won't be the last time Earth-based thinking holds you back until you realize something significant! That's apparently how it works and is wonderfully frustrating!

You asked, "How am I supposed to explore something in pitch black?"

Start thinking "outside of the box".

it's great when u create a topic and then other people's experiences that give possible answers help with my understanding.

I guess with my original Question regards 'intent' I guess the rules on the astral have to be taken into context with your emotions and what you think and belief.  You mentally project wether it a help or hindrance I. E. The void darkness or in my case intent and this then influences your overall experience.

I now see my desire to command my intent at will and for it to happen as a test to see if I can achieve my desire. Once I do and I will achieve this I can then move onto other realms and experiences.

So isaywhaat I think your task is to come up with a way too further explore even if darkness seems to want to engulf you. Outside the box and if you stop limiting your self to our physical senses in the RTZ then you'll get past this sticking point, as will I.

Blidge, there are little "tricks" to help you navigate through this area. Like for instance start walking in this area. You will soon find you are in a tunnel of sorts. You could also create a doorway, open it and see what's on the other side or one of my favorites open the curtains in front of you. Yes, reach out and spread the veil. At this point you want to passively observe what you are seeing. Allow the scene to draw you in to it. All of these techniques help to take you deeper into the reality that lies ahead and beyond.

That's what "thinking outside of the box" entails.

I wish I read this first.

Anyway, I managed to get sun in my LD today  :-D. But, only one one side of it. To my right there was still darkness. As I always kept pushing something of my own will into LD, I got advice earlier on to try and blend into surroundings that my sub-conciousness already prepared for me. I decided to explore as everyone suggested, so I went down the top street where it was sunny. It was something about my siblings, but I couldn't really reach them. As I entered those parts I found myself where I started from, same spot in front of my room. This time, it wasn't day and night that needed change, it was the season. For who knows which reason now, it was winter and I actually felt cold. But, I got the grasp of the whole intent thing so I quickly changed it to summer. The more I "explored" those sunny parts, the more I was running in circle. Everytime I would be back at my house, leaving through the same window I always do, getting outside on the same spot of the same street. Next time, I will try and go for the blackness. Hopefully, I will manage to stay within the experience as darkness always throws me in my bed where I'm still somewhere in non-physical but I can feel my body and if I open my eyes I'll wake up.

But at least I'm beginning to understand how this whole intent works. Xanth made it perfectly clear. No matter how much you want something, believe in it or wishing for it, it isn't enough. You just have to make it happen. Just like that. I managed to clear my sight, change one side to light and also change season. I'm pleased.

at times I have thought outside the box and created differing things to help change my reality. One time I created a vortex by pointing my finger and moving in a circle so a tunnel was created.

Im consciously aware when im in this environment to try other things. Again I've recently had another projection. Instead of walking through the bedroom door I turned and headed for the window as another exit from my physical self.

I will try other things like just willing myself to be anywhere else.
