Hey ever1
Ok so bin practising certain techniques for realising that you are dreaming,,but the problem is that eveytime i become aware that i am asleep i wake up,,,and i can actually fell myself waking but am powerless to stop it. NE advice for me?
I don't think you're truly 'Powerless to stop it'. :)
What I do, is I focus on my hand, or another close object, until it comes into clear view, while thinking, "Stay in the dream, stay in the dream" (or something similar).
After that, for your first few lucid dreams at least, you should focus on your hand every few minutes, to keep lucidity, and to stay in the dream.
Hope this helps...
One technique which works for me in such situations is to really stamp my feet and clap my hands hard (so it stings). I guess my reasoning behind this is to make the 'interal stimulus' which is creating the LD overpower the increasing stumlus from my body and and the phsyical world. It can be quite effective (in my own use of the technique).
Other techniques invole such things as spinning around or trying to change the scene quickly.

Changing the scene sometimes (to me almost always) makes you either wake up right away, or even forget you're dreaming in the second scene.

It hasn't worked for me either, I either wake up or fade into a grey nothingess. Although I know some people who have said it works for them (so thought i'd add it here).
i just wanted to ask a quick question about lucid dreaming, after realising you are in a dream, then flying about or whatever you want to do, the next morning will you be able to remember a lucid dream better than a normal dream, i know there are techniques such as a dream journal and other things, but will you generally remember a lucid dream better?

Oh, for sure.
Actually, possibly you have lucid dreams more often than you think, and most of the time you forget them! How would you know?
^Haha just joking there, I doubt it. Because lucid dreams feel usually almost as, just as, or more real than even when you're awake, you remember them. You remember things from when you're awake, so you remember these for sure. :)
I can endorse the spinning technique. Even as a beginner at lucid dreams, I had 13 dreams in a row one night, and could remember them all with clarity the next day. Whenever I felt I was losing the dream, I'd spin myself around, and find myself somewhere else. It was so much fun.
Thanx guys,,,some awesome suggestions,,,gonna try them all out when the opportunites present themselves, your all really ace ;)
When I feel that I'm waking up or drifting into normal dream, I always try to touch and feel something. For example in my last lucid dream I took can of Battery from the floor, held it in my hand and stared it. Also touching walls, floor etc. helps me to continue lucid dream.
I don't know about others, but for me lucid dreams are lot more easier to remember than normal dreams.
