I'm all new to this and I was reading some of the other posts and one said to watch yourself fall asleep. I tried that and I thought I could feel myself sit half way up out of my body, I then snapped back down and opened my eyes. Did I project half way then lost focus? Can anyone explain this to me?

It's hard to know... you say you "think" you could feel yourself sit up, but if you weren't sure, we can't be sure either. If anything, you were aware of the subtleties which is a good thing. Keep practicing - I suggest looking through the Astral FAQ's and Permanent Astral Topics for a good technique other than just watching yourself fall asleep. That can get boring quick.

Very good points Stookie. Yes if you don't know exactly what happened there is no way for us to know either. I believe you are taking the right steps and will get there soon just keep pushing forward!  :-D

It felt like I was pulled back... somthing was pulling the entire time

AstralBlogger

When first starting out that feeling is one of the main things besides fear that inhibits projection. Its like a magnetic pull but it is really really strong as you get more proficient with it it becomes easier to get used too and eventually overcome.

hope that helps :-D

Ok thanks, that helps out alot. I thought I was doing wrong

Yes, I'll jump in here too. I know the feeling. That was nowhere near projection. In fact, that path of sensations is a dead end. I have traveled that road many times.

The key is to NOT think about the physical. But that whole not being able to process a negative really throws a wrench into the works.
Just lay there without moving. Think about some sport you like playing. Use metaphysical imagery to imagine kicking around a ball, using a racket, or whatever have you. Eventually you will realize you are more disconnected then you were when you started. Repeat...Like 20 times. :-P

Cheers,
Contenteo

If you've never had an OOBE before, believe me - you won't mistake it with anything when it happens :) Usually BEFORE it happens you'll experience lots of bizarre sensations, such as vibrations, weird noises, etc.
