I'm very new to Astral world in all senses :)
I'm 20 years old a tattoo apprentice from the u.k i have had sleep paralysis for almost 4 years, i had my first Astral projection (well sort of ) just over a week ago after deciding to not panic in s/p i just rode it out and then i floated up towards the ceiling on my side it was amazing :) but i could not see but slightly sense where things belonged (objects). I have read up on astral projection methods and have been attempting it night at most i have gotten half my body to float horizontally but i can't get the push to get fully out i understand that its a hard thing master and  will carry on :), am i doing well for a week and a bit? also...strange things now when i try to astral project i am being watched by a silhouette of a person all black ...no features :S it doesn't feel threatening just puts me on edge :S is this normal ? also puts me off projecting i can see it with my eyes shut but yesterday as i opened them i saw it plain as day and it dissapeared ? anyways i am not spiritual and at first was skeptical but i genuinely am coming round please don't hate that I'm skeptical because i can not help it :) but i truly want to understand :D

Hello... and welcome.

Have a read of this... especially the intruder section...

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_out_of_body_experiences/sleep_paralysis_the_whats_whys_and_wherefores-t38734.0.html

and it may ease you towards realising that it is very common.

Be skeptical. There are far to many people who believe everything they read. Seriously. Keep your head screwed on and your eyes open. :)

Don't open your eyes during SP.

When you exit... intend to be somewhere. Have a plan...a place you want to be. Sometimes, the further you perceive moving away from your body the clearer you will see.

Or use my trick of rubbing your hands together and blowing on them... nonphysical hands that is. This will anchor you deeper and create a more complete immersion into the nonphysical.

Thankyou very much for taking the time to reply, and the post seems very helpful will read the full article :) ...i have never been a full skeptic... but i am definatly a skeptical person but now i feel very in ore of everything that is going on ...thankyou Looke :D

It's important to not forget that you are safe :) Sometimes fear can reflect back at you and make you feel uncomfortable. Enjoy!

During during SP I have seen so many things that I could create a website totally devoted to them.

The Predator... the Alien... goblins... shadow people... my mother being stabbed to death in my bedroom doorway... myself standing in the room... a cascading white fluorescent ectoplasm-like thing dropping from the ceiling (like paint dropped into clear water)... a wolf stood above me... an indian... my sister crying in the corner... a red hot sweating demon fist protruding from my forehead as though punched from behind... my room full of leaping jumping imps... a portal opening up in my wall (that I used to jump through into a full NPMR projection)... a slowly rotating cube... feeling like I was in a different location than I was having SP in... 3D twinkly christmas ornaments adorning my ceiling... A giant spider spanning my ceiling... Kathryn hitting me (she wasn't next to me at the time)... a weird amorphous slug slowly traveling over me pinning me down.. several people and 'things' tapping on my bedroom window...

Never my friends.

Holy flying jesus!! Hopefully you didn't see all that in one night ha  :-P
SP is one of the craziest experiences someone can have, it astounds me that so few people have even
heard of it over here. A friend of mine was having them frequently and thought he was going mad for months  :|

I have seen dancing shadows around my room, creatures that are absolutely bizarre, and even cute little creatures that would just look at me curiously. I've mostly had auditory hallucinations, though, instead of visual ones. Why is that?!

In my first SP ever, of my life, I remember waking up with it and hearing a baby crying in horrible distress. I'll sometimes wake up and get SP and suddenly, an ominous music will be heard, like in the movies, when someone is about to get killed.  :-P

I have... hallucinated having a conversation with God, or a higher being. He was walking me through SP, saying it was nothing to worry about.

I once... had SP and started seeing something manifest before my very eyes but I didn't like what I was seeing (negative imagery, alien or demonic entity) and as I sent out what felt like a huge "HELL NO" with my mind, the hallucination started to fall apart and break apart in front of me.

I have even had SP where I felt I woke up, in my room, as usual, and all of my 5 senses were there (as it always feels like) but my room would be.... different. Meaning certain things would definitely be in place but there'd be a slight 20% difference. Items I didn't own, things I didn't decorate with, etc. That one time, I actually stopped to wonder if I slid (You guys have seen Sliders and Quantum Leap, right?  :-D) into a parallel universe where the me chose to decorate her room slightly differently. Because when the SP ended, the room just morphed back to my own before my very eyes and the little subtle changes were gone, but I didn't so much as even blink.

But yeah.... as for the intense astral pain I experienced, maybe it was just a very rare thing. Hallucination, pain to the astral body, I don't know, but it's never happened again and I almost feel blessed because I've talked to many people who've had SP, and I mean many many people, but my experience so far just completely stands alone.

I'm just waiting for the day to see someone else have a similar experience. The feeling of complete detachment of the soul, yet still being in the body, the "morphing" feeling, merging, the fire, the pain, the feeling like a hollow shell, the intense pressure that felt like the building of Gs on my body and the feeling of blood turning to lava and coursing through my veins (which I could actually FEEL)

It reminded me of having super senses. Like I tapped into feelings and emotions and experiences that otherwise couldn't be tapped in to or felt when in a normal state of mind. Everything was so elevated.

Once shadow hooded being gave me a hand and i took it. He wanted to protect me from bad things. Before that  i had a dream about that aliens wanted to abduct me in my room.

You sound like you have had many SP experiences i think SP is a powerful illusion i was constantly haunted in my "episodes" by a women i got ticked off eventually after being rather scared eventually one night she ran in my room shouting some weird langauge... i was on my side and she was right in my face i was really angry for reason and just looked at her in my head screamin f*ck you...she looked shocked and literally just walked away now i just get sounds when expierncing SP haha thought i'd share :)
