Title: Newbie making progress
Post by: swamp on April 16, 2012, 12:41:33
First off I am new here, so hello everyone!  I just recently began trying astral projection.  I've been lurking on these forums for awhile and decided to introduce myself and share my experiences.

My first real progress came about two months ago when I used binaurel beats for the first time.  It took about 45 minutes, but I got to the vibration stage.  I have to admit, this felt nothing like I was imagining it to feel.  It was almost like a small seizure, and my heart was about to beat out of my chest.  That night I woke up in the middle of the night having vibrations again.  This kind of freaked me out, so I quit trying for a few weeks.

I then made it a goal to not try to project, but to practice getting to the hypnagogic stage and staying aware.  After practicing this for a few weeks I had some interesting experiences.

1.  One morning while laying in bed listening to myself snore I saw a perfect picture of a young clean cut man, probably about 25-30 years old.  I heard a voice say "Remember this face."  The picture faded and I remained focused.  The next thing I remember was the feeling of my mattress being pushed down like someone was getting in bed with me and then i felt someone lay down on top of my arm.  I moved my arm, but then realized that my real arm was by my side the whole time.  So was this my astral arm i felt?

2.  One afternoon while in this state I saw a gravel road as if I was standing right in the middle of it.  The color around everything was sepia toned.  All the sudden the road started to move and what i was seeing was as if I were traveling extremely fast down this road, but backwards.  I kept focusing on the road thinking maybe I was about to leaving my body, but what I was seeing turned to tunnel vision and eventually closed to blackness. During this same session, I thought I felt someone touch my foot.

3.  About a week ago while drifting off to sleep, I heard a female call my name.  This startled me, so I got up and asked my wife if she had said my name.  She was asleep.  Looking back on this the next day, I wondered if maybe it was a guide of some kind trying to tell me that if I wanted to leave my body, now is the time.

Yesterday I decided to just try to get out.  I got real intense vibrations that started in my buttcheeks  :-D and eventually moved to my whole body, but I just couldn't figure out how to get out.  I tried visualizing myself rolling out or floating out, but neither worked. I feel like I am real close.  One thing I am not clear on though.  Should I try to exit during the vibrations or wait for them to finish?

Thanks for reading.  I know it's long.

hah, i wouldn't be surprised if what people experience during a seizure is just a phase. interesting point. thanks for bringing that up.

1. You were in the transitional stages of a deep F12 and transitioning into F15, at the end of F12, your visualizations begin to take on a life of their own. Next, F15, begins as you feel pushed downwards  :-) It's darn tough to put your finger on it as there is not time there..  :-P It could have also been you transitioning into a deep F12 from a light F12. It depends whether the sensation was more of a lead blanket or more of a falling sensation, the F15 being the falling sensation.

As you fall deeper, you should feel like you are acting through your visualizations. I can't tell you how many times I used the hackysack visualization and found myself accidentally physically kick into the air.
So, good job & this is common.

2. Hmm... sounds like another deep visualization. Again, as you go through the transitions process, you want your visualizations to take on a life of their own & feel like they are actually happening. If you become reaware of what is going on(you laying in bed attempting to phase) you will screw it up. You just have to let things happen and learn to live and enjoy these added effects to what you are visualizing. again, good job & this is common.

3. Hah, again, it sounds like you are perfectly on track. These crazy noises and occurrences are part of the phasing process. It sounds like they are happening often, which is very very good. It takes a long time to get used to this weirdness. Enjoy it though, I personally miss the excitment of crazy things happening and for me not to think they are weird.  :-P

nah, don't apologize, I am glad it is long, it is a good description of what you are going through and you will be able to look back at this as a turning point. its good to have an new adept joining the forum.

yeah, hah, vibrations come from all over. don't ask me, I mean, we are attempting to not perceive our body here, they are an intangible sensation, so your guess on why we feel they are in a local area is as good as mine. What I can tell you is that when you get washed in them, my hypothesis is that you are pulling the trigger on your so called 'crown chakra'. An energy theory person would say you didn't store up enough energy. I say, you jumped the gun. If you know how to tirgger then sensation, "focusing up at you crown Chakra, then you know how to phase. You just have to learn that sensation, and use it when you are at a deep enough F12/F15 state, which as you just said above, you know how to do.

In conclusion, you are very close, I would try an early morning drowsy exits, I think you are ready for a phase. Your first exit will be this way, it won't be wake induced. Your strategy, wake up early, get that drowsy feeling, get into a deep F12/almost F15, and then pull that trigger. Oh, yeah, one last thing, when you pull the trigger in that state, it will feel different then when you do it at an earlier stage, i mean, deep F12, your eyeballs are shut down. so, perception of where you head/crown is, is gone too. you'll see :-)

Thanks! I'm enjoying the process so far.  Will definitely try your suggestion.

I separate when I feel a faint tug that usually occurs immediately when the vibrations come. Sometimes it comes slightly later. The tug is difficult to find.

I have also separated at the end of the vibrations, but that is a rarer occurrence.

I have never separated in the exact middle of the vibrations experience.

If the rollout or lift out exit technique doesn't work for you, then try willing and pushing only your consciousness 15 feet forward (a little bit past your bedroom door) when you feel the tug.

The tug only last for a second, so you may miss it. The tug feels like you are rising and sometimes it feels like you are falling. Remember it only lasts for a second. That is your go time. Then at that exact moment of the tug, you can try rollout, liftout, willing your conscious forward, or rise like steam escaping through the top of your head. Do whatever exit method that gives you the best results.

QuoteI separate when I feel a faint tug that usually occurs immediately when the vibrations come. Sometimes it comes slightly later. The tug is difficult to find.

Good advice.

It's like you are laying in a drowsy state, then this unique sensation arises, often in different forms, but you know it's feeling, and then you gotta just go, "Gotcha!" and bingo, the phase happens. The rest is an automatic process. You regain full attentive consciousness of the experience as soon as the Gotcha moment happens.
