I've been trying on and off for six months, about two hours per session. Please let me know if I'm on the right track, and if these things I'm doing are normal

First I experience the twitching body, drifting off into that state...
As I continue, I might feel myself spinning very very fast, sometimes auras of light keep washing over me. At this point I feel this very strange pressure in my third eye and especially in the nose area.
I know I'm reaching somewhere when I start to see the purple blob
Then I feel my body totally numb

Sometimes after this point the sleep world comes into play and I experience paralysis.

Do I need to fall into that sleep world if I want to continue into OBE? Or when I have OBE will I be conscious but in that meditative state?

Also since my eyes are closed, how can I see anything?

Just confused about what to expect. If anyone here can comment on what's normal and abnormal about this I'd appreciate it. Since I've never even had a lucid dream before maybe I'm just not set up for this kind of stuff, it's been six months and the only thing that's happened is a more ready expansion.

Hi thenoob,

before I can give any advice/opinions, it would be good to know what techniques you use. How frequently you use these techniques etc .

I lay on my back usually and then just open my consciousness, for lack of a better phrase......

I do use the climbing up rope technique when I'm in the deeper stages and I feel myself struggling between sleep and focus.

I want to do this because I just want to know for myself if there is truly a separation between mind and body. If I can feel this it would be a great relief. So far nothing of that sort

I sorta have the same problem

last night how ever i was lookin over the internet and i foudn thsi site...

in the technique section it says that when you wake up in the morning, try not to wake up. It sounds confusing, but he expalins it more on the site. I tried that this morning but i failed the first couple times and the last time i tried it, i got vibes heavy vibes and it was pretty awsome :)

I find early morning's always best.
I use the 'WILD' lucid dreaming technique and it instead induces OBE's 95% of the time.
Maybe you should choose any affirmation and focus on it like a mantra?
I use "I remain aware as my body goes to sleep" - works like a charm.
