Title: Not sure if lucid dream, or something more.
Post by: Dawkins on November 03, 2012, 10:44:41
Last night, I fell asleep late in the night and had a very vivid nightmare. The nightmare felt very real, but at one point I looked in the mirror and became aware of the fact that it was a dream. I then became aware of my body, and started to panic. I managed to control my breathing, and then attempted to sink into my bed. It seemed like it worked, I heard a loud hum, and suddenly I was sinking into blackness, with millions of white little lights everywhere, flying by as I gained speed.. (Like stars)

However, the next thing I know I'm back in a dream, and after a few seconds I forced myself to wake up.

I'm wondering if this was simply a lucid dream, or did I finally make progress in my goal to project, after giving up on it?

At the point you "realized it was a dream", you were ALREADY projecting.

That's what a projection is... becoming aware that you're in the non-physical to whatever degree.

You didn't need to attempt to "sink into your bed", because as I said, you were already projecting.  :)

This is what most people either don't realize or are very confused about... they try to overcomplicate things for some strange reason.  I've learned that projection is simply becoming aware while experiencing a reality that isn't this physical reality.  The Labels we humans use to differentiate these experiences are just that... labels.  They're actually meaningless beyond being vague descriptions.  For example, take what we humans label as a "dream".  I've found that it's an experience that doesn't really objectively exist... what a "dream" really is, is you experiencing a non-physical reality, but not realizing it.

Hope that helps.  :)

So then, Lucid Dreaming is a form of projecting, but to a lesser extent than say an OBE?

Interesting. I never really thought of it like that.

However, does that sound like a lucid dream, or was on on the right track to leaving my body? Im not sure what made me think "NOW I SINK INTO MY BED". I cant remember ever rrading something saying thats what you do,it just sorta felt natural. Like thsts what I had to do. It was....strange.

Dreaming... Lucid Dreaming... Astral Projection... Out of Body Experiences... are all simply labels people use to try and differentiate their experiences.

This is what I feel is the biggest mistake people have made in relation to this stuff.

Those labels above... to me, are all the same thing... EXCEPT that the difference isn't in the experience, the difference is in YOU, your consciousness and how aware it is during each.

The difference is the varying level of your conscious awareness during the experience.  It doesn't mean the experiences are different, it just means you are either more or less aware of yourself.

Interesting development.

In the nightmare I was my younger sister.

Turns out, my sister actually had the same bizaree nightmare.

We're confused by this. Any info on something like this?

Parapsychology calls this "Dream Telepathy"... but this Telepathy is probably a defined focus of our combined consciousness as a collective race and our ability to access it when 'non-physical' (OOBE/LD/AP/Dreaming/day Dreaming).

You just focused your awareness to someone you love as they were experiencing a bad dream... or maybe YOU were having the dream and it was she who was experiencing it. This seems very natural to me.

Imagine that we are all connected... like the avatars in a massive online interactive game like Second Life or WOW are related as fragments of the central processor in your computer... but your computer is also part of more individual computers around the world... each with the ability to see the other ones interacting, and they are all connected to the main frame that runs the actual 'game'. You as the USER can practically experience your sister's avatar if you type in her password and play her character. But it being 'mind space' and not a computer... she is also at the helm.

Any 'mind space' can be accessed.

This is the best general description I can give based upon what we know.

I would love to see what would transpire if everyone told each other what they dreamt of... and how many people remember being involved in or experiencing the dreams of others.
