Last night I was sort of trying to OBE and also relaxing to some of my favorite music (spanish music, which i can barely understand at all) and feeling so great and relaxed, and then i saw my face, like really up close and got really excited, heart sped up, and then was back looking thru my own closed lids.
was this an OBE, a short one at that, but was it? I hope next time i can not get so excited... but its really hard not to.
a simple yes or no would do..... any1...
Well as far as I know, you probably managed to switch to your astral body seen as you could see through your eyelids.

Anyway, here is my second ever OBE, which happened over two years ago and sounds a little similar to yours, in that I saw my "astral" face through my closed physical eyes (I think!).

Afternoon Nap

I became aware that I was rubbing the soles of my feet with my astral hands – I hadn't made a conscious decision to do this. The sensation on my soles was the same as if I really had touched them, a sort of tingling and warmth. My astral hands weren't hindered by my slippers or socks; indeed I was rubbing my bare soles.
I then decided to get off the chair, with the purpose of turning around and looking at myself. I pushed myself off the chair using my astral arms on the armrests. Once stood, I was quite unbalanced and fell back down into myself. I realised I'd still got my astral eyes closed so I then decided (before I executed it) that I would get up again, get onto my knees and turn around, face myself, and only then open my eyes. I managed to do this with some difficulty (balance being the main stumbling block). Then, when I was in the correct position, I opened both my eyes at the same time, quite quickly. This next bit is very hard to describe.
My physical eyes jolted open and I was fully conscious and my sight was from my physical eyes, but my vision distance was about 3-4 inches from my face. There was a sort of swirly round mirage about the size of my face, about 4 inches away. The best way I can describe it is similar to the way the heat distorts the atmosphere on a summer day, although this is an inadequate description.
I felt a little strange, so closed my physical eyes. For about 5 seconds, my eyes were spinning very fast in a clockwise direction vertically, gradually slowing to a halt. I lay there for a while hoping to go back to sleep, but it was not to be.
I felt what happened here was that my sight was strongest through my physical eyes, so my whole being chose to see through them, and not my astral eyes.
This might be nothing like your experience, but it reminded me of it, so here it is in glorious technicolour! Oh, OK, in dark blue.

lol, well same thing except for the soles rubbing feet. When i really get close, my arms feel 'not part of me' is the best way, just lumps of human on the side of me, like i'm observing them not being them.
