Title: OBE Course Advice Requested
Post by: Emraen on January 30, 2011, 02:30:26
Hi

I wondered if anyone would be able to give me some advice on the Buhlman and Monroe courses.  My husband and I have been trying to OBE for the last 2 months and while I have managed partial seperation, my husband has not.  We thought we might go to the Monroe Institute in a couple of months to do the Buhlman OBE course and then 2 weeks later the Monroe Gateway Voyage.  Has anyone done either or both of these courses?  We live in India so travelling to the US will be a long journey and so wanted to make the most of it and do both courses but I'm not sure if it's wise to do the 2 so close together.  We e-mailed the Institute and Buhlman himself and both said it was fine but I just wondered if anyone else had any experience with the courses?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Cheers
Em

I would practice at least for half a year before going to any course to get as much as possible out from the course.

Not sure I agree. If you spend six months practicing and reading up on the subject then it is going to create a certain amount of expectation. If you attend TMI they say this is one of hindrances to experiencing something there. If you go with no expectation then you get more out of it.

There are no prerequisities for a TMI course. I say just go. Expect nothing and see where it takes you.

And on which course I would probably say back to back courses of Gateway Voyage and Lifeline. Go over to the TMI forum. You will get lots of feedback from the alumni there.

There are prerequisite for Lifeline and several other TMI courses.

Yeah, when I say there are no prerequisites I mean you dont need to spend 6 months learning about OBEs first. If they take GW voyage then Lifeline naturally follows

They do have beginner courses that teach you the basics.
But, as Pauli pointed out, even for those... you'll be slightly ahead of the game if you take the time before hand to practice.  You'll actually get more out of the experience than if you went in there willy-nilly.

Hope that helps.  :)

Thanks everyone, much appreciated.
The courses are in May / June so we have plenty of time to get some practice in beforehand.
I'll check out the TMI forum also...
