Title: OBE -- "Dogfights"
Post by: Greytraveller on October 17, 2008, 22:57:31
This OBE happened about 2 weeks ago, on the night/morning of Friday, October 3, 2008

There were 2 vicious fights against astral creatures. The first took place in a dark street or alley. I was with someone. I don't know who he is but he was familiar to me in the astral realm. Suddenly we were attacked by a canine-like creature. It charged us out of the darkness. I was taken off guard and could neither fly or use magick. A second discarnate creature entered the fray a minute later. I tore one creature into a smoky misty mass. The smoke swirled around briefly in a hectic chaotic manner and slowly dissipated. Then the second creature simply disappeared.
The second fight happened only minutes later. This time I was alone and was suddenly beset by a pack of wild (astral) dogs. Outnumbered, I was in trouble from the beginning and was savagely bitten a number of times. I did not feel pain but was acutely aware of a loss of energy. This might have become serious. Two things helped me immensely. First, I became astrally aware = was conscious that I was out of body. Second, I returned to my physical body. Yet I was not awake so the fight continued for half a minute. Finally I woke up in the physical. The pack of astral dogs were gone. I felt the mental strain of those two fights for hours afterwards.
Notes. Not sure what time this OBE occured as I only recalled it hours later that morning. Duration was anytime from 10 to 20 minutes.
OBE # 80  Locale I.  Familiar Location  Yes. Familiar person  Yes?? (Discarnate friend).  Other Person(s) or Being(s)  Yes Discarnate Dogs and Discarnate Creatures.  Emotional,  Fight,  Meditation,  Energy (pranayama),  Travel-teleport.

Thanx for taking the time to read this OBE report.
Opinions and comments are welcome.

Hey Grey

Unlike Mattoid, I'm pretty sure this was an OBE.

You might be interested to know that Dr Waldo Vieira recorded a similar OBE in his book "Projections of the consciousness".  He wasn't attacked, but visited a very scary place accompanied by a helper/spirit guide.  This place was full of vicious astral dogs who chase and scare away people going anywhere near (including those wondering about in their sleep).  He discovered that a highly evolved being lived in this negative place, someone who has voluntarily taken the task of training and taming these wild dogs (actually they look like dogs but they're consciousnesses who are on the negative side of the scale).  The purpose of his trip was to meet this angelic being who told him that a lot of people come in their sleep, get chased away by the scary dogs, wake up and say they just had a nightmare!

Also from my readings (William Buhlman), I can say that some of the fearsome beings we meet on the other side are mostly representations of our own fears.  Such OBEs happen to make you aware of your own blocks, and how to get over them.

Hope this helps.

Thanx to Mattoid and Venus for your replies.

Mattoid
I am quite sure that this was an OBE.

Venus
Quite interesting that I read an OBE report from someone who posted an eerily similar OBE on AstralSociety.us  The OBE posted there was Very similar to mine.

The first fight was against 2 discarnate creatures that only somewhat resembled dogs.

The second fight was definately against a pack of 'wild' astral dogs.
I really do not know where all this originally took place so maybe it is this same location that was visited by Waldo Vieria.

BTW Vieria's book "Projections of the Consciousness". Is that the mamoth 1,200 page tome advertised at the IAC website??
Have you read that book and is it worth the time trying to get through it all?

Thanx
Grey

Well alright, but don't ask for opinions if you're just going to dismiss them.

I've witnessed no fighting dogs, and epic battles in my experiences, but i have had my mind spit garbage out before i enter a full on a sleep state in the form of a dream

"Projections of the Consciousness" is Vieira's diary of his OOBE's. "Projectiology" is his textbook. I've read "Projections", but not the textbook, so I wouldn't know, but his experiences were very informative. One of his other books, "Our Evolution", seems filled with needless amounts of new words for the work, so I wouldn't be surprised if "Projectiology" is the same way.

Grey, that's a great report, Thanks.

Do you see city environments as much as country, forest, and town scapes?

I'm working on visiting places I'm not familiar with, ie, glacial, ocean, space, to validate the finding of new information and exploration.
(easier said than done)

Checking out Projections of the Consciousness, thanks Venus for that tip.

Grey, you got your response already.  Projections of the Consciousness is only 240 pages.  http://www.iacworld.org/English/Publications/Eng/ProjectionsOfTheConsciousness.asp

The other book, Projectiology, is like an encyclopeadia of AP. I have one and only use it as a reference.  Apparently Dr Vieira is currently working on another reference book and is looking for interpreters; in case anyone here is interested...  :-D

starvingp and Venus --
Thanx for the info on the Vieira books.

I do visit urban and rural area in my OBEs (both familiar and unfamiliar). However during this past OBE I cannot recall any specific locations. It was outside and it was very dark. Most probably I was somewhere close to the place where I physically live.

I have yet to be confronted by negs as such but, the other night during a hypnogogic episode, I got bit on the ankle and when I pulled my leg back, I heard a dog bark at me.

Do you suppose there is a pack of wild dogs loose in the Astral?  :-D

From my experience and the reports of others as well it would appear that there are feral canines roaming certain astral realms (as well as many other discarnate animals and creatures on the loose as well).

jacko

It could mean something else. When I was young I had Many OBEs but did not know what they were so only remembered them as dreams.
Anyway, even if you did have OBEs with an encounter against wild dogs then you need not be concerned about it. Because If you did have OBEs those were years ago and you may be ready to move on to more, fully conscious OBEs.
