Title: OBE or Lucid Dream?? First Experiences
Post by: OneMansJourney on May 29, 2009, 12:43:16
It just happened a few minutes ago and I'd like to get it all out to help solidify it in my mind.

I was lying down and set my alarm to go off in the morning a little earlier than I needed to get up so I could practice, been trying for about a month.  So I try for a little while and get nowhere like I usually have been.  I must have drifted off to sleep but then I remember waking up, laying on my stomach and I start to feel some vibrations.  They were short heavy ones, almost semi rocking me.  So I don't really think about much but I try to intensify whatever is going on.  It seems like I could get to a certain point with it and I'd mess it up by thinking.  So finally I put all my concentration on not thinking at all and just completely going on the ride with whatever is happening.  I hear some whooshing in my ear and all the sudden I pop out about ten feet from my bed looking at myself.

At this point I thought i'd be freaking out cause I hear a lot about fear but I was completely calm and just trying to think of what to do next.  I look at myself in my bed for a split second then remember people saying you should get away from your body as much as you can.  Now this part is weird because it's like when I was moving I was so disoriented.  I was swaying back and forth and had terrible balance, but was able to go where I wanted.  Everything was crystal clear clarity, perfect vision.  I went up my stairs and walked through my door and then all of the sudden I was outside someone's house (not mine) and there was a Cadillac in the grass, a silver one.  I didn't think much of it but I knew I wanted to go somewhere.  So I thought hmm I'd like to go to Mars so I closed my eyes and tried to think Mars.  For whatever reason that didn't work so I thought about my friends house who's also trying this and closed my eyes (is that even possible when out of body? maybe a lucid dream).

Then right when I opened my eyes I was at what was supposed to be my friends house, but I don't think it was.  It was this dark place that I wasn't really comfortable being at.  It resembled a house but it was like it was the middle of the night there, but it's light outside.  At this point I was completely stuck and couldn't move at all.  I tried asking for my guide to help me go to a beach, but I couldn't go anywhere.  So I tried swinging my arms and legs to get free (possible in OBE??) and after ~30 seconds I could sort of feel my bodies arms, AND the arms in my dream/projection.  About 10 seconds after that I ended up jerking myself awake, and then came to computer and wrote this!

Now I BELIEVE it to be a projection, but it's really hard for me to say i KNOW it was a projection. I figure if I could come here and write my experience down perhaps someone else has been through something like this and can help shed some light on the situation.  Because while it was partially the most possible vivid lucid dream i'd ever had, I feel it could easily be just that, a lucid dream.

OBE to the RTZ (etheric).  When you went through the doorway you shifted into the astral.
Congrats, you did it.

It sounds more OOBE like than lucid dreamlike- but I agree that sometimes it is a fine line between when one starts to go into more dreamlike situations.  Some of the places you go do not seem real compared to how you think they should be. That does not mean it is a dream- Sometimes things are just different.  And the reason you could not go to Mars? It sounds like you just may not be ready for that kind of a jump. To illustrate, from your experience, you said you went up the stairs and walked through your door. You are still thinking too solidly.  You do not have to walk anywhere in an OOBE,or worry about going throgh doors. As you found out, you can just think it to make it so.  That is the kind of mindset you need to go otherworldly places.  Do not think in terms of physical limits.  If you really want to go to Mars, you can.
I would be curious if you told your friend about your experience.  In my past, when I tried to go to a friend who was also trying to go OOB, we had some interesting similarities on nights one of us was successful in getting out.  The absolute details may have varied, but the feeling of the experience was there. As example, I had an OOBE once that I was showing him how to shine energy out of my hand up into the trees.  He reported to me that he had had a dream that we were in a park near his home, and we were shining flashlights into the trees.

When people say i have no dreams or i do not dream, means that he dreams in dark and here is nothing to remember - he do not create anything. Normal dreams happen, when people create without light and lucid dreams, when they are created with light.
Dreams usually are within aura. Energetic bodies flow out from Consciousness, and then Consciousness can investigate itself with this method.

Excellent!  Thank you all for your input.  It's great that I can say I had an experience like that.

For anyone just starting out I encourage waking up after a nap or in the morning and trying to catch yourself JUST when you regain consciousness, that's what has had the most results for me.

I still don't seem to be close AT ALL to projecting at night from fully awake to body asleep mind awake.  This usually just results in me being up for all hours of the night.
