Hello all,
I've tried to AP before, with little success, I've had lucid dreams, but I've decided to stick to it and practice.
After reading recently, I realized an odd experience I had a few years ago was almost a spontaneous OBE. I was lying on a raised bed in my dorm room, watching my brother play video games and it was late. Out of the blue, I felt like my whole body rotated upwards, pivoting at my head. I gripped the bed tightly and snapped out of it because I thought I was going to slide off.
I had tried to AP years before this event, and felt the very intense vibrations coursing through my body, and I felt heavy and immovable. I began to feel as though I was hyperventilating and I came out of it. Some time later, I intentionally hyperventilated and felt the same sensations. I wonder if anyone knows if (A) if hyperventilation or the sensation of hyperventilation are common during vibrations? and (B) If the induced hyperventilation vibrations are at all related to AP. I don't intend to try to use hyperventilation as a means to AP but it is interesting nonetheless if other people have used hyperventilation to reach altered states.
I hope these questions find a response.
All I can say is that, whenever I get the vibrations (haven't ap'ed yet: too scared to try and leave my body) I am hyperventilating and my heart is pounding. So yea, it is pretty normal - I think.
Don't know about the inducing part though, I suppose it could work.
The heart part is actually your heart chakra. I'm not really good with this stuff yet so if a more knowledgeable member wants to expand/correct what I'm saying please do so. It's very typical for it to be doing a blast-beat sort of thing when you're in the vibration stage. The hyperventilation I'm not sure of, but I'd say especially if you didn't know what was happening exiting could be a scary thing, maybe it was a natural reaction to bring you back to your body?
Like I said I'm very new at this and haven't even projected before so please don't take my words as truth! At least wait until someone who's been around longer chimes in
