Title: Odd experience during meditation
Post by: interception on September 05, 2009, 19:18:02
So I was meditating deeply on the idea that we somehow focus/experience what we call reality as a particular subset of a larger overall "state space", within which all other realities are actualized but not experienced.

At some point I became aware of another "me" sitting in front of me. Then there were 100s of me's sitting in front of me. One of those "me's" turned around, smirked, shaked he's head and telepathically said: "Why don't you take a break, go get a drink or something".

I laughed and was instantly awake and taken out of the meditative state.

This was most likely my deeply relaxed mind playing tricks, but I laughed out loud as if finding the whole idea of 100's of "me's" ridiculous. Maybe it is ridiculous I don't know. I also laughed at the futility of trying to understand the apparent fractal nature of reality. I felt like I had at least some grip on this theory in the deep meditative state, but when I was so rudely forced out of the state the few pieces of the puzzle I metaphorically managed to hold on to just fell out of reach again.

Thanks for sharing interception. I believe it's the thoughts that arise during experiences like that which have the most effect on our being. On a rational thinking level it may seem impossible to understand, but living the experience creates change.

In relation to the "fractal" self, who we are at any moment is not the definitive "I", but just a portion at that place in space and time. It looks like you got a chance to see many divisions of "I", and being fractal in nature, it goes into infinity.

I was reading some Rudolph Steiner last night, which he had wrote that unconscious changes happen to our being while we sleep every night. It's our flawed physical perception that clings to recognizable patterns and resists change. He states that you literally wake up as a new person everyday.

Have you heard of Nassim Haramein? I have read his work concerning Unified Theory and the structure of the universe where he draws on such fields as theoretical physics, cosmology, quantum mechanics, biology, chemistry, and anthropology.

Many scientists are beginning to understand that consciousness plays a large role in our realty and in our universe. In fact it was his work that led me into researching how molecules, specifically atoms are made up of only 1% matter and 99% space. We are now realzing that the space isn't empty but indeed may be dark energy or interdimensional consciousness. So when we think of something as solid, it is really made up of space/energy and can be effected by our consciousness.

Check him out:

Very interesting. I had an experience not too long ago that is very similar to yours. At the time I was under the influence on Salvia, but what happened was very much like you described. Here's a snippet from the journal entry:

sewed up and stitching
"like were being manufactured" alex
"like a sewing maching"

Beings? or individuals, all connected and linked. Infinity. Felt almost like apart of a mailbox, or end of a piece
of furniture or a white couch? Almost seemed pointless. Upsetting cuz our whole life was merely... false almost.
like we were actually asleep. a lot like the matrix, in a sense. like it was my first time (though it was more like my
3rd time experiencing almost the same trip) really waking up/ or remembering that i had been asleep my whole life, or unconscious
in a sense to what was actually going on or happening my entire life. that i was apart of this whole. i was merely a speck
is how "enormous" this infinity of me's went. i got the feeling that, yes they were all me's. and that i wasnt the only one
who was apart of this. i briefly thought of the news, and the newscaster, and how silly their news stories were compared to this.
how they had NO. IDEA. NO CLUE!!! That they were ALL apart of this. THey had completely been wiped clean, memories erased, no
memory of them ever being apart of this one massive unit. I sensed that there were more "units" Alex was apart of it. I felt Like
my life was my personality was just one out of zillions and more.

Anyway. it was very fabric of the universe feeling. Just thought I'd share.

@Stookie - Flawed physical perception indeed. As frustrating as it might be I suppose one should simply cherish those experiences, file them away as unknowable to your physical mind, and trust they serve some purpose. I sometimes have these "flashes of brilliance" while awake where I feel like understanding is just there... just out of reach. I just have to put one last puzzle piece into place and I will have something really interesting to write down... Must be a medical condition. :-P  I tell you, I will be first in line for true intelligence enhancing technology if it ever surfaces in my lifetime.

@kurtykurt42 - Thanks, Ill check it out. Looks interesting.

@Leilah - Thanks for sharing. :-)
