Early morning around 2am or so I woke from a dream of me being in a very large crowd and helping people periodically off this...island, least I think it's an island. It has homes, school, soccer field and a couple other buildings I didn't get the chance to check out. I've been to this place a couple other times but it was during the day. This time it was night and storming badly. It was a pretty long dream so I won't go into detail. I woke up because of the sudden fright of seeing my six year old being blown away..not a nice site to see in the physical or astral. :-o
It was only a couple minutes and I was back to sleep. I consciously thought about the dream, replaying it over in my mind when I found myself back there again but in a different location and that came with different sceneries that I got myself involved in. I swear no matter what, when I see anyone or thing in trouble I rush right in. I still had my son on my mind and soon enough started looking for him. While doing so I woke up again but came right back to the same experience. I did this four times and that is after the first waking. By this time it was 6am. I brought myself back to the physical the second time by actually speaking outloud..well, not words..garble..lol.. I'm sure many of you have experinced that.
That's the point of my post. I broke my personal record of consciously going back to a situation. I was curious as what ya'lls personal record is?
I did find my son if anyone is interested...wheww.
PS. I put this in astral experiences because even though it seemed to start out as a dream the other four times were conscious travel.
Wow! That's great Nay. :-D
I've only managed to go back once. And I found that spectacular when it happened - I was overjoyed!
Glad to hear you found your son.
Hopefully when I've as many years experience as you, I'll be able to return more than once.
Sarah
Thanks Sarah. :) I don't know if it has anything to do with how many experiences I've had. This experience I absolutely had intent. But the other times I've been to this location wasn't me trying to go there. I still have no idea why I have been to this place several times...I guess I need to try and figure that out.
I'm pretty sure I have done it atleast 3 times. I had a record of all my dreams and OBE's(like over a years worth!) but I lost it when my computer crashed. Otherwise I would be able to say exactly how many.
I remember one time I was having a semi-lucid dream and I woke up. Then I went immidiately back to sleep focusing on that same place I was at and it worked. Only it was a couple years later at the same place. I was with some people at this house. And when I came back in my second dream they had moved!
It's weird. Sometimes I can pop right back in at the same moment I left. Other times its days, weeks, or years afterwards.
That stinks about your computer, sorry!

That's so true! :-)
Since you linked this Nay in the other dream thread, I figured I'd start you off again here.
It's a really good idea for a thread too, might I add. ;)
Just to clarify...
Are you asking how many times we've awoken, yet been able to get back into that same dream during the same night?
If so...
For me... using the "Body Still/Eyes Closed" method that I've mentioned here before, it was I think around the same as you... 4 times in one night.
I'll just quote my post on my website about it, the first time it happened was back in the end of September.
QuoteSo, the one time I managed to do this I was already in a lucid dream (the LD was me in this room full of toilets and urinals... I know, strange LOL) and I began to feel that usual feeling of 'waking up'. My vision went to black and I felt the shift... I knew I was back in the physical, lying in my bed, and it happened so smoothly that I didn't bother to open my eyes. I figured I'd go back to sleep, and within what felt like one minute I slipped back into my lucid dream at the exact point I had left, in the toilet-filled room. A couple minutes into this lucid dream, I, again, felt myself waking up... I kept my eyes closed for that waking as well.
I kept doing this over and over... four times, each time I woke up faster and faster. The fifth time, I got into the lucid dream and I immediately began waking up. I initiated my spinning thing to ground and keep myself within the lucid dream... but it didn't work and had a secondary effect of causing me to have a classic OBE experience where I felt my arms float up and the rest of me follow. I opened my eyes and I was floating down towards the foot of my bed. This lasted about 10 seconds, when I came back to the physical.
So that's the only experience I can remember where I managed to not open my eyes upon waking up.
I know... toilets... kinda crappy. :D
I've been able to do this a couple more times that I can consciously remember. Four seems to be my max, as each progression through seems to get shorter and shorter. I'll need to figure out a way to strengthen it upon re-entry.

Yeah, basically. When this happens to me, like recently with the portal things, there was not much time in between waking and being back in the experience. I have gone back to dreams a few hours later, but mostly it's around the same time period. Am I making sense? LOL I can't explain myself.
Take this experience I just posted again. It certainly didn't feel like several hours, but it went from 2-6. I spent most of that time in the experience, with either a recollection or not, but not physically awake. I would only be physically awake for no more than a couple minutes, just enough to get me back into the scene. My portal experience was the same but it took like an hour for the whole thing to happen, but I was physically awake like three times within that hour.
The more I think about that portal experience, the more I think that my mind was made... blank... when I looked at that giant whatever it was. If this was a subconscious part of me, why would I block that from myself? I WANTED to see it, but no matter how hard I tried or try now, I can't see that thing. And I was looking right at it! I've had this happen one other time that I can think of at the moment and it was when I was seeing a giant TV screen type thing in the sky, and talking with what I can only describe as a alien consciousness. It kind of makes me feel... uncomfortable that someone or something can wipe just a bit from your brain.
Anyway, didn't mean to go off topic.
Only time I have toilets in my dreams, is when I need to go tinkle and haven't woke up yet.
