Unfortunately, there is no sufficient info in this case to say for sure. There is also a phenomenon called Lucid Dream (LD), which usually begins upon realization of the self, and bears close resemblence to the AP - it might have been that.

Put one or two playing cards face up on the top of the shelf in your room (without looking of course), and don't forget to examine them next time you're out.

(btw there is a guy on alt.out-of-body who does the card "trick" on routinely basis, but the results never match with reality - does anybody know what might be causing this?)

P.S. I'm anything but experienced, so you can safely disregard everything I say.

Yes, i believe that it was an OBe, you had. As to the help you want, you have to be specific as im not sure what you want help for.

When I first had out of body experiences I found it frightning. The sensations were not what was "normal" to me or what I expected. I would barely leave my body before the fear set in and I would jump back into my body. This is normal. First, think about your fear, why is it scaring you? examine it, think about it, lay it to rest. When you understand your fear, why you experience it, you can calm yourself and stay out of your body. I did this by telling myself not to move after I AP , to stay close to my body, (knowing I could pop myself back in in a split second )and experiencing the fear to its fullest and why I was afraid.  I was afraid to leave my body, that the experience may be something I could not handle or something horrible might happen.  I also asked for other higher beings to be there and aid and I must admit their laughter vibrating thru my being did help. They were laughing from joy that I cared to join them on the astral plane and conquer my fear, it was the laughter of children playing together. I found myself laughing with them and it made it easier for me to conquer my fear by laughing at myself. One time the fear hit me and I tried to jump back in and I did, only for some reason I kept going back in and out, hovering above my body , then back in ....there was a click that was audible and strong that was what was frightning me when I exited. It happened every time I exited my body. Over and over this happened until I was no longer afraid and comfortable with the click, and then it was like a test to see how fast I could do it. Of course it was the beings who were with me, their love and kindness and them showing me it was nothing to be afraid of.
Do not forget to call for aid when you feel you need it. We are always surrounded by loving kind beings who find tremendous joy in our presence and us in theirs. You are never alone , all you have to do is reach out. Always call for a being to aid whose energy is greater than yours or the same.  You just simply have to ask in a meditative state.  They love to help us, teach us and just plain be with us, and they always come to aid.
I keep reading posts where people are alone. That they do this all by themselves which is entirely possible. I myself find it easier and more joyfull and less confusing when I ask for aid from on high when I try something new to me. If you are afraid of other beings who might be on the same plane when you project, this could be what is binding you to your physical body with so much fear.  This happened to me, so I asked them to come and be with me before I projected so I could experience who and what they were. This helped me alot.
Maybe I am co-dependent or something, lmao.

Greetings Anna,

Welcome to the forums and thank you very much for your post.

I agree about asking for help; Spiritual beings cannot offer help or simply provide it without being asked because it would be an infringement of freewill, but anyone can use their freewill to ask for help. As Anna suggests, it is simply a matter of quieting the mind and sending out a mental request.

With best regards,

Adrian.

[^] Hey guys.....(Just need to know if i am actually getting somewhere)

Here is a more detailed recall on events than my last post(as requested by other posters).....

I got to a stage where i could not feel my body...it was as if it was not there at all(usually happens quite quickly)! After this comes the part where i am aware of nothing other than what i am listening to(i find listening to a clock gets me trancy quite quickly)! My heart(i think it was my heart?)was beating crazy and i could feel the energy running through me(maybe imagination)! I also had shortened and quicker breaths! Then as everything was happening, while all the feelings and adrenaline rush like feelings where gaining momentum there was a sudden nothingness......silence....darkness....as if for a second or two i did not exist. The next thing i knew i was lying with my eyes open and looking at the ceiling, everything was lit up as if the light was on(it was off - 1am). After about 2-3 seconds i realized what was happening and without any thoughts or anything a feeling of fear suddenly burst out from inside and i woke up in the trance state.

The same thing happened a few minutes after that......i then decided to turn over and sleep.

Another strange thing is that that night i recall dreaming for the first time in 2 months. Before that it was like i stopped having dreams.

Anyway, sorry for the long post and i hope i was more specific.

Thanks for your help, i really appreciate it.

God Bless

Hi, i am new here and in OBE...this is my first post.

I just have a question:

The other night i was doing the whole OBE process. I recall blacking out for a few seconds and then next thing i woke up looking at my ceiling. On realising that i was not actually awake but asleep i got a feeling of fright and then "actually" woke up, but still in a trance like state.

A few minutes after that the same thing happened except i was looking at my cupboard. Also got the fright and then woke up.

Was it a dream or was i actually leaving.....it felt so real and i can remember it as if it actually happened in reality. There was no sound and everything was lit up as if the light was on.(1:00 am)

I will appreciate any help from the experienced ones.....

Thanks[:)]
