I read the phasing guide a year or so ago, so I'm not really sure how this compares to the phasing technique.... but here's what I did.

Basically while laying in bed, trying to go to sleep, I basically would imagine myself in another reality. It's probably important to note my visualization skills are already somewhat strong from various mental-tinkering over the months, with no real goal, mostly out of boredom. I also have a bit of experience with meditation, though I can't say with any certainty that it helped me much here.

Basically I can imagine myself in any scenario and experience all 5 senses simultaneously while instantly forgetting about the real-life version of those senses, so that I only experience one version of each sense at once. The trouble here is holding onto those sense while doing things, and breathing. Forgetting to breath sometimes de-relaxes me and throws me out. The reason I call this a meditation is because I have to continually bring my full attention back to this other reality, in which I can engage all of my senses. Typically at first I am only able to snap my attention to this other reality for a brief moment, after which something yanks me back, such as the need to breath.

I've found it is easiest to do something in this reality which you enjoy. At first I would walk around, maybe run through a jungle... imagine myself picking up clumps of grass, feeling it, having it transform into metal and into a sword, then slashing a zombies head. Just whatever would come to mind. All of this while at the same time being aware of my feet in my shoes, or my feet on the grass, the wind in my hair, the sun on my skin, my jeans on my legs, etc. Just imagine as if you were in your back yard taking a walk, remember the sensations. The world of memory of events is basically the LD world as I understand it.

After enough time of focusing on this reality and keeping my senses engaged & aware, doing something, I slowly become less aware of the waking reality, and before I know it I'm totally engaged in this lucid reality, with the exact same cognitive functioning that I had in the waking reality. No vibrations, no falling asleep, nothing. Though, even accidently thinking about the waking reality can shift me out of the phase, though I'm sure with progress I'll be able to stay in easier.

I don't recall how long I practiced this for last night, but I'll say it probably took about 30 minutes of laying in bed consciously practicing it before I 'snaped' into my dream world. I toyed around for a few second, got excited, and popped back out. This had been very exhausting for my mind. Almost felt like I had been doing a math test for an hour and just wanted to go to sleep afterwards, so that's what I did. It's only reasonable to assume this will get easier the more I practice it. It takes a LOT of MENTAL EFFORT to be aware of all of your mental senses at once while moving in the phase or doing something. Lots of cognitive centers interacting with eachother you can say. Most of the time spent initially before you actually phase is trying to keep all of the senses being felt simultaneously.

Something I'm still trying to figure out is how I can keep a continuous stream of breath going while being locked into this other reality. Seems like most of the times when I snapped out of the reality it was so that I could take a breath. If I can learn to maintain my breath while not being aware of my body, but instead be aware of my senses in the dream, it may be possible to phase in under 5 minutes - I am very confident in this theory, though I need to get down the technique better before I can say for sure.

Also I'm not sure if it's relevant, but that night i also slept AWESOMELY. I hadn't had such a rejuvenating sleep in a very long time. I didn't have any mid-night LD's or AP's that I can recall, but I woke up feeling simply joyful, content, and happy.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask... this technique is honestly simpler than it seems, at least to me. Once you understand how to engage your senses in your mental realm, then it only becomes a matter of locking into it without holding your breath.

I remember doing that without thinking of Ap - I was visualising myself fireing DC15 blaster rifle at some battle droids and wom!I was out :D (Star wars fan ) :D
Who am I is not important...My message is...

Haha yes it is very fun to imagine playing around with various weapons, even pure fantasy ones. That's what I love about LD's, even Fantasy can be a reality.

Sometimes when I'm bored during the day I will just sit and play with my mental-self somewhere in my mind, maybe see something online and create it mentally and toy with it for a bit

Yup!  This is the slightly more complicated version of the Rundown Method that Frank used to teach.

Goodstuff!  :)
